How much do you commute every day? And how much time does it take?

I do around 90 kms a day if I just go to my office and back. I do this in about 50 mins one way via the Nice road.

If I use the roads through the city,home to office is approx 18 kms and takes anything between an hour to around an hour and a half

Time spent in the car on an average would be anything between 2 and 3 hours a day.

In chennai I commute to / fro for 20 kms. From my home in Ramapuram and to office in Nandanam . My Aprilia SR 150 does the duty. It takes me not more than 30 mins in peak traffic one way door-to-door. So yeah quite comfortable.

I travel 15KM one way in chennai from my home in Ramapuram to my office in Perungudi. It takes 50 mins on an average.

I do about 16KM one way from Bellandur to MG road bangalore. Time taken is a function of Fortune, BBMP excavation mood and rains.
On normal days 45-50 mins on unfortunate days 1.5 hours

A round trip for me is 75 kms if I am alone and 82-83 Kms if I pick & drop the Mrs.

Takes about 1.5 hours each side in peak traffic.

There are no viable public transport options so no choice but to drive.

In Pune I travel by my car doing a round trip of around 45km daily.

In the morning time, it generally takes around 1hr 15 min to 1hr 30mins depending on traffic. In the evening it takes about 2 hours or more.

There are no direct public transport options. There is a company provided bus but my office timings (team/project) do not match those of the bus. So even though I prefer public transport, I have to drive daily.

Three days short of eight years, my car crossed 50k today - an average of just over 17 km/day. That's because my daily commute is just 3.5 km each way, twice a day. For a working day beginning at 9 AM, I leave home at 8.45, reach my place of work at 8.55. I live in a relatively calm place in terms of traffic. However, in the afternoons the same distance takes me 15 minutes. On weekends, when the entire Bengaluru population (and some) [exaggeration obviously] descends on my cute little town, I need at least 20-22 minutes.

My office is 6 odd kms from home. I commute to it about 12 working days a month. I set up office near home - one of the perquisites of being self employed. The rest of the days I trudge the airways. In 1997 the commute took about 8 to 9 minutes and had 1 traffic light. That was before Gurgaon was discovered. Today it takes 25 minutes with 5 signals to navigate through.

Bumping on a rather old thread.
After moving to Bangalore in end of 2011, I always spoke of how long your commute in "Hours".
While Distance and Kilometers will be directionally co-related, the coefficient of corelation is crazy in Bangalore.

In an an ideal world, we could have a 2X2 grid - with Distance on one axis and Tiem on another axis.

@Mods - Can we have a survey which talks of commute in terms of time and not in terms of distance.
