We have 3 providers Airtel, Vodafone and Jio. At least one of them works and give decent speed.

So far I have asked the owners for the screenshots from speedtest site.

The flats on rental site for short term are highly overpriced. 35K per month is the cheapest in Patna. Don't know what it will be in Noida.

Thank you, thank you, this is exactly the sort of information I was hoping this thread would contain, real experiences from people who are doing this already.

(The other things like whether remote working is feasible at all and things like that are already being discussed in another thread: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shift...ture-many.html)

We had just completed house warming of our holiday home mid Feb in the outskirts of the city. I had to do a very short travel for a meeting first week of March and upon returning was advised by my company to self quarantine even before the COVID rules were in place.

It struck to me that the perfect place would be the new home. There was quite some work left to do, but sufficient for a meager living. By the time I completed quarantine, I had clear idea of what were the stuff I needed to fix first.

My broadband was upgraded to fibre provided by Railwire. Only one provider had good 4G coverage so got a standby Sim for mobile data. Had to try out all providers till I got this one right. :Frustrati WiFi got upgraded with an Archer router as well.

Luckily they were changing the electric lines of the entire area during the period, so electricity is in top shape and have a 2kva inverter.

It's been 5 months now and whole family is in work and study from holiday home mode. It's definitely a refreshing experience with near zero sound or air pollution. Fresh vegetables, milk, lots of open space to cycle or play badminton and easy access to most amenities since we are just off the city.

Does this mean I am feeling healthy? Not at all with the even longer hours in front of the laptop lol:

Countries like Bermuda are offering 1 yr residency program to facilitate work from home.

Details available at below link:
https://www.travelandleisure.com/job...mote-work-visa

The program is set to launch to the public on or before August 1 and those interested will be able to apply online for a one-year visa. The residency program will cost $263.

Applicants must be over the age of 18, have health insurance, “demonstrate good character” prove that they are employed to a company or enrolled in a school outside of Bermuda, and prove that they will be able to maintain an income without seeking employment in Bermuda.

Travelers who don’t want to spend an entire year in Bermuda can spend up to six months without a visa. The government has extended the maximum stay for a visitor without a visa from 90 to 180 days.

At Palolem in South Goa, the Airtel hotspot has been showing speeds between 20-25 Mbps and Reliance hotspot 10-15 Mbps over a few days. There is one local Internet provider who advertises wired plans up to 150Mbps.

Place is pretty empty, even restaurants and shacks that normally function during the off season are shut. Beach sees little crowd in the evenings and on weekends but I think mainly locals from different parts of the state. Few domestic tourists. People are very casual about wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. The tourists seem more careful. But being this empty, it's pretty easy to keep to yourself.
