What are the other options for Truecaller in India ?

I tried out Hiya
Pros
- Clean UI
- No Adds

Cons
- Most of the time it does not display the spam caller , just says Unknown number
- I could not find an option to make a conf call once this app was set as the default app.

On the making conf call part, in case any of you use Hiya and know how to do this, kindly do drop a note here.

God bless Truecaller for iOS devices. Call recording is on. Unsure if it mentions call is being recorded or not (Samsung does not mention). You have to go through calling Truecaller first and then adding calls, but still, it’s better than having nothing. The upper banner is self explanatory.

This truecaller for iOS has indeed been a nuisance rather than a saviour against the SPAM.

My wife had mentioned to me about her poor experience with truecaller and how uninstalling this stupid app reduced the SPAM calls by 90-95%. However, I wasn’t too convinced with this since the basic objective of this app was to highlight the SPAM calls.

Even though I used to receive nearly 20 calls minimum, of SPAM calls everyday; almost 70-80% of them were flagged by the trucaller app. So I was convinced that it is doing it’s job well.

But than this frequency of SPAM increased drastically and I was literally fed up with the untimely calls through the day.

I just thought of giving it a shot and uninstalling the truecaller app , and to my surprise the SPAM calls reduced by nearly 95% !!
In last 3-4 days I just got some 2-3 calls per day. A significant drop from 20 calls per day !

Of course, now these 2-3 calls aren’t flagged that their SPAM , but I’m okay with that.

The TRAI mandated complaint mechanism worked wonders for me.

First step was to register for dnd on the site of frequent callers like ICICI, Bajaj Finance etc or send them an email to ensure I revoked any consent that I might have accidentally given in the past. Then started reporting unsolicited commercials calls and in a couple of weeks it went from multiple calls a day to one or two a week at most. I don't know what exactly goes on in the background, but it has worked so far.
