Wanna drive an 18-wheeler? Then try it on this PC game..!

If you are bored of driving supercars on your PC and winning races after races and now you want to do something different, then try this new game 18 Wheels of Steel by SCS software.

This game is all about doing various logistics assignment, i.e., taking different types of goods from point A to point B without causing any damage to the vehicle/cargo, without breaking traffic rules.

The game is not breathtaking when it comes to graphics but some good points about this game are:
1) Nicely detailed 18-wheelers from a variety of brands.
2) Detailed interstate American highways, you drive virtually across the entire country.
3) Decent AI, i.e., the traffic cars reduce their speed in tricky situations.
4) Cops catch you ONLY if you break some traffic rules.
5) Decent physics, with all the right sound inputs viz, air brake sound, turbo whistle and so on....

There have been 5 versions in chronological order
1) 18 WoS Hard Truck
2) 18 WoS Across America
3) 18 WoS Pedal to the Metal
4) 18 Wos Convoy
5) 18 Wos Haulin'

Free 1 hour trial version of all the versions are available for download at the official website

BHPian 300 KMPH just inquired at a local shop that the official CDs retail for around Rs.99 or maybe Rs.199 depending on the version

its an awesome game..dont know about the latest version but i played hardtruck..try to get somewhere in a certain time and upgrading your truck..cool fun...only boring part is once you've done a few deliveries it get real boring to drive from point a to b...
Best part is when the drive falls asleep on the wheel.
Shall try downloading the lastest (full)version, any clues where i can get that...

I had this game...
I have given it to my cousin..
Will try and get it from him..

Its a very nice game....
The earlier version was good too..And it was more fun..
But this one is more realistic..
I drive the trucks like mad...

But the only drawback..is you cant do burnouts...

Watch this video

Those who are completely unaware of this game can take a view of this video link..... This 10 minute video almost gives a complete idea of the game.

By far, this game has the best simulation of American highways..

Some good things which I noticed about this game...
1) Unlike other games, the traffic cars here drive with different speeds, i.e, some drive slowly, some make kamikaze moves, some are overcautious..... it's very realistic

2)Some cars which are initially slow change speed which makes it more authentic

3) The HUD, is very informative too, giving minute details such as high beam, low beam, turn indicators and so on....

Fabulous........

Bought 18 WoS Pedal to the Metal. The best detail is the truck vibrates when it is on. Also, we can put some accesories on our truck like advanced lights, a bull-bar, a visor, e.t.c. The Physics of the trucks are the best.
