hi sanket, guess u took my advice !! the gypsy is the best bet for the RAID, and when preparing your car for the RAID -- just keep in mind that speed should not be ur criteria, sturdiness of the vehicle is a more important thing !!! Its a total car breaker track

Our very own Team-BHP macho pick-up! I am not looking at buying your car, but can you still share pictures of her with us?

Hi sanket, Just remember the following and if any farther questions pls feel free to ask !! I personally havn't particpated in it though I wud luv to !

1) TERRAIN -- The initial stages ( DAY 1) are more of broken tarmac with some stages being total dirt !! Narrow roads, but pretty smooth turns. No room for error as sheer drop on one side .. throughout ! Vehicle needs to be tuff to take all the bumps and pot holes . After Manali, the road slightly better in stages, but overall remember the winner is the guy who knows how to save his vehicle !

2) WEATHER
-- The weather is very cold so don't forget the warm clothes. The nights will be very very cold, even the vehicles will have starting problem at 5 am. Even the day temp is not 2 high. After Manali even during the day u mite have to wear warm jackets.

I keep repeating this again and again -- but remember the secret of success to this event is finishing !! Most of the front runners in the process of pushing end up in the DNF category. Its a very physically demanding race, smokers have a slight problem in breathing at the real high altitudes too. Just try and come to simla about 10 days prior to the flag off so u can get acclimatised with the conditions there. I was gonna do the event this yr but I mite b getting married in Oct so have pushed it 2 the next raid and then it will be with my wife as navi... !!

What can you not do with the 207-DI that you'll be able to do with the GYPSY.. I believe the 207-DI is more sturdier than the GYPSY !!

Great News, Tata is launching the TELCOLINE in INDIA.. Think of it as a 207DI with better rear-seat legroom, 4x4 options, AC, comfortable seats, a better bay area (probably same as TATA Mobile) I am eagerly awaiting the launch..
