True. I stop listening to people/group making the most noise without fact or logic based argument/rebuttal.

IANS is owned by ADAG, which is desperately currying favour with RIL. TV18 of CNBC-TV18 fame is owned by RIL, as is Moneycontrol. Both of these are the main carriers of this article.

Ownership information is in the public domain.

And there's quite a few who believe that "the printed word is the gospel truth".

Another article giving quite the opposite view:

Quote:
..Reliance..put up a defiant face and said that it would move ahead with its deal for the acquisition of assets and business of Future Retail Limited, despite the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) ordering to put the INR 24,713 Cr deal on hold in response to arbitration proceedings initiated by US-based retail giant Amazon.
Quote:
However, with a closer perusal, one would realise that Reliance’s statement is more for optics than for announcing its intentions.
Quote:
He adds that Reliance would not be able to go ahead with the Future Group acquisition, since the deal signed last year between Amazon and Future Group mentioned that any disputes would have to be solved by arbitration, and hence, the decision of the emergency arbitrator is applicable on the Future Group.
And they've even put together this pic:

Ball is back in the Government's court to accept favours from all or have 1 nation 1 policy kinda thing to prove that they are not favouring anybody.

JPC or no JPC, please put out a level playing field dear Government of India. These turbulent times and cease and desist intentions won't do good for anybody.

Laws are not meant to be broken, and yes constitutional frameworks and legitimacy of Parliament is to be respected etc etc, but perhaps, when Babu's start following rules instead of bending them, Corporates would get a fillip to be more compliant.

Is this the first time a company is doing this. Didn't Facebook do the same? If I remember correct the FB India head refused to appear before a JPC despite multiple summons.
