2001 GTX would be 2 to 2.20, depending on yr bargaining power and the GTX Sp (with airbag and traction control) would be additional 20000

If u are looking for a palio , IMO , u should go for the 1.6 , the FE is almost the same compared to the 1.2 max diff of 0.5 km per liter.
but this is affordable considering the goodies of power, alloys, Spoiler silver dash, better seat fabric .( I am comparing the 1.6 to the 1.2 ELX version)

Rtch , thanx for correcting

heavyfoot,
u can contact shahmotors, who is a member.
some time back he had a 2003 1.6 for 2.99 , so The max I would say for a 2001 1.6 would not go more than 2.4 to 2.5
Also in 2001 , the models came in NOvember and december.
so the difference between 2001 and 2002 may not be so high , but still a periodic year makes a difference.

U can also contact Shaman Motors in Worli , they also deal in second hand cars,
th prices of JMD are always high ,
If u wanna have a true idea of the pricing , try the reverse gear.

Call up any dealer and tell them u have a 1.6 and u wanna sell it, and ask them how much they are willing to pay,
whatever price they quote , add 10 to 15 grands to it.
and u should have yr 1.6 for that price.
CHeers!!!!!!!!!

Heavy Foot,

Just considering yr budget range of 2.00 to 2.50 lak, the following cars can be an option for u:

1. Esteem 2000 VX 2.30 to 2.40
Low height car , not so comfy on bad roads , but truly a drivers car.
FE = 9.5 in city and 14 on Highway
afterall a Maruti

2. 2000 Ikon Zxi 2.40 lak
Great space at the rear and front
Good aircon
good handling
not so good suspension specially in the 2000 models
FE = 8 in city and 13 on Highway

3. Palio 1.6 GTX 2001, 2.25 to 2.35 lak
Big power , smart looks
compact car (advantage in city driving)
FE = 8 in city and 13 on highway

4. 2000 1.6 corsa GLS, 2.10 to 2.2 laks
honestly I dont like this car ,
solid build is the only advantage
spares expensive
lacks character
FE = 7.5 in city and 13 on highway

5. 2000 BAleno , 2.5 lak
Superb Air con , almost the best aircon
Loads of power
Fuel efficient car.
rear looks blunt
Bit expensive spares
14 inchers a must on the car
FE = 9.5 in city and 15 on highway
A highly reliable product

Well , My vote goes to Baleno simply coz it has the combination of power and efficiency and also coz its really cheap in the market now

In bombay it would be in the range of 2.80 to 3.00, considering the alloys and cd changer
53000 km is a bit high for a 3 year old car.

i just read the aci article on spares and the baleno had the cheapest in its class.

btw, read a post put up by GTO that a 38000km,2001 baleno went for 2.1 lakhs.

either the car is not clean or the owner must be desperate for cash , needing it urgently at that very moment

Just came after looking at a palio ELX for my friend. Need to know how much to pay for this. This is in bangalore...

2002 Jan Palio ELX
Got pioneer cassette player.
2nd owner.
Done 28km so far. Its running on the original tyres... (does elx came with 165/80r13???)

Drove the car around. Every thing looks okie with the car. Got few deep scratches on one of the rear door and wheel arch. The wheel cover of the front wheel has lots of scratches. The asking price is 2.85...

Any idea whats the fair valutation is???
Also i want to check the suspension and clutch etc... will rac do the checking? Going down to fiat service center is going to be a pain. What other things that has to be looked into???

thanks

Lambo good luck trying to sell your car for 3-3.5, unless you find yourself a real bakra. You know FIAT's rep, now multiply that by 2, and that's how bad the GTX's rep is when it comes to non-enthusiasts. There are quite a few GTX's out there between 2-2.25, some of them have clocked less on the odo than your car has.

As long as Palio 1.2s go, anything around 1.8 Lakhs is a good deal. Anything above that, and you would be paying through your nose. No clue about prices down south though.
