Fuel bunks on strike tomorrow

Guys,
While most of you must be aware of the same, this is just for those who may not have been keeping abreast of current happenings.

All fuel bunks in Bangalore (across the country too?) would remain closed for tomorrow, while Shell and Reliance will continue as usual.

Source : TOI Bangalore edition.

Please tank up as one cannot predict with these guys who may go on an indefinite strike as and when they please.

But look at this piece of news. Indefinite bandh by petrol pumps Staff Reporter HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Petrol and Diesel Dealers Association, in a release here on Wednesday said that it would launch an indefinite `No purchase - No sale (of all petroleum products from Government Oil companies)' from April 28. According to the Association Vice-president, K. Bajrang Lal, the decision was taken following the Government's delay in solving the long-pending demands, which includes dealers margin to be fixed at five per cent of the invoice value, appointing an appellate authority where the dealers may make an appeal against the high handedness of the officers of oil companies and supply of marker testing equipment to the dealers.source:The Hindu : Andhra Pradesh / Hyderabad News : Indefinite bandh by petrol pumps

The strike is mainly because they want the dealer commissions *(Not sure of thats the right term here) increased. Currently the dealers make 87paise per litre of petrol, and 50paise per litre of diesel sold. They want this to be increased to 5% of the amound sold. With the minister not giving in to their demands, hence the strike.

The strike is all over India and is a one day strike. It was pre-planned and informed days before. They will not go indefinite straight away. But you can be better safe then sorry later.

Thanks for the info.Me too had planned for something but had thought of canceling it due to the strike but now should go ahead as scheduled.

But am hoping this is only a one day strike or there could be problems.
