Actually, its quite useful in some cases like reversing out from my building. Not that I have one, because I always drive out nose first . They sound worse when they are damaged to some extent, and the noise produced is like from a torn speaker.

This is in vogue for some time now. There is no implementation just like smoking in public was banned. So there is actually no use going ooh haa about this folks. we have to live with this menace until they start implementing this in earnest.

i and my family can sleep peacefully now. all our neighbours have those irritating reverse horns and they make sure they will start reversing their cars after i sleep. don't remember the number of times i have cursed them.

Am i missing somethin here? AFAIK, sometime back (few years i guess)there was a SC ruling that it was illegal to use reverse horns.

Car security systems like autocop have built in reverse horn feature. When i took delivery of my 800 in 2003, the dealer did not activate it as it was illegal (not that i wanted it anyway).

So whats with the new rule?

Stop the car, engage reverse.
If it cries, fine the owner.
