This is the Volkswagen original part number 199 398 500 A. This has been produced since 1973 and the have made 6,8 million of them and the most produced VW part up to 2018.

The Volkswagen currywurst happens to be a sausage. I have eaten it but for me it is nothing special though Europeans love them due to thei exotic flavour.

I went to the VW dealer and asked if they could order this part and they said yes. Interesting if this could be tried at a VW dealer in India.

I have checked with my VW dealer here in Delhi and the parts guy has confirmed that it is not available to order here.

On August 20, Volkswagen will stop manufacturing its most successful product: currywurst sausages produced inside its main factory in the world in Wolfsburg.


That's right, VW makes sausages. Production began in 1973 and, each year, the manufacturer estimates to produce about 7 million sausages,40% of which are intended for employee food and 60% sold in stores around Wolfsburg. In practice, it is a larger production than that of the Golf, which is produced in the same place.
