Poor old Schumi

I hope that those Fiat van TV commercials featuring a bored Michael Schumacher have finally been canned for the benefit of an embarrassed public, the vehicle manufacturer and the man himself. Frankly, he's looking a bit lost these days, and he clearly needs a new purpose in life. In one sense he has everything. But look at it another way, and he has next to nothing. Money's not an issue. Yet the harsh truth is that, as things stand, the world's best driver of modern times could be looking at spending the majority of his adult life retired in sleepy Switzerland... jobless, lacking direction and living on past glories. What he needs is a proper job

The man loves to drive. I hope somebody gives him a driver's job again, and he has the sense to accept. No point in remaining a celebrity when your best years are clearly not behind you.

He is going to come in F1 again, on the administrative side. Thats what the rumors are.
Best thing would be to become the lead instructor of a F1 training school

Imagine if we had a bunch of drivers on the F1 grid graduated from Schumi school of F1 driving. F1 would be a lot more fun.

Hakkinen should start one too.

Best job for Schumi: Go back to Benneton Renault and shake things up for a year or two.

2nd best job: Join his buddy Jean Alesi in DTM, join Opel or Audi coz he cant join Merc

next: do the Lemans series and win Lemans.

Mika's and Michael's schools will start competing with each other tooth and nail if that happens. It'll all end with Mika's school grad undertaking the best overtaking move of that century with Michael's school grad racing till close to 40.

Its best that remain as part of a rich heritage.

I know one lucrative high profile job thats vacant for more than a month now. Why cant be the next cricket coach for India. He will enjoy a lot more publicity than he ever did winning all those races in Formula1.
P.S. @danlalan ..... it always takes a 20 year old to kick a 30 year old out.

I see this thread has lost a bit of its direction.
Lets get back on topic.

Author has a very good point. People like MS can make great icons for safe driving campaign. But at the end of the day MS is a racer and you can't keep racer away from racing. Mika did the same in DTM. And I hope MS would do the same so we get to see MH vs MS all over again.

But being team manager is not every drivers cup of tea. There are lots of great drivers who have failed some name come to mind like Prost, Lauda.
