Cost per BHP?

Hi,

I was just wondering the other day on my drive back home where I was trying to calculate the cost per Bhp of my Indica Turbo. What i did was divide the ex-showroom price of my car by the amount of BHP it produces.

Price: Rs. 4,02,500
BHP: 68

Cost per BHP = Rs 5919/BHP

What is the cost of your BHP ??

Note: Mods, please move the thread to a different forum if required.

Thanks
Saurabh

How about torque figures?

Purpose: You could argue that it is a measure of Value (Power / Torque) for Money.

However, the year of manufacture and location will need to be taken into account. A Delhi 800 owner will pay less per BHP than a Bombay 800 owner.

You need to use ex-factory (preferably the lowest version) and price only for brand new Indian cars as of 2007. Keep used cars out of this since it will only cause confusion.

The Palio 1.6 will probably be the lowest price (most bang for the buck) and S350 will be the highest

The SLK350 probably works out worse than the S. The OHC Vtec also doesn't do too well.

I think a HH Karizma works out better than most cars!
