Same thing repeated day and night on ToI after all kind of news. Just check below any news story, you will find "Do you like this story?" at the bottom.

Now it's widely accepted that "like" is used more as flag so other can read it. A tragic news can be spread by flagging it without even really liking it. May be what they are liking is the concern for Dad. Don't read too much in to it.

Facebook etc can come up with a different name/new button for flagging but I don't think it's necessary.

A few months ago a similar thing happened when Azhar's son was killed in a superbike crash. There were hundreds of likes and some were defending it by equating his death to Azhar's misdeeds. Sorry, but to me a death is regrettable regardless of what the father may or may not have done
