All the non vegetarian folks, who do you think serves the best butter chicken in Delhi ? For me its Dhaba in Rajouri Garden at no.1 spot followed closely by Minar in CP. Heard great reviews about Daryaganj Aerocity as well. Yet to try it out |
If you are in the vicinity, Singh Sahib in Dwarka does brilliant butter chicken.

Yes this is the one.
Please recommend some good restaurants (veg/non-veg) near NDLS. I have 4 hours between flying in/out and boarding in/out of train. So 30 mins from NDLS is fine too. I tried searching thru this thread, but since I am not from delhi, I cannot relate to the areas mentioned. My son likes chole bhatura..but again quality restaurant is higher priority than particular food item.
Requesting 1 veg (chole bhature) and 1 non-veg option please.

Check for eateries in and around Connaught Place. Kake da Hotel and Wengers, for example. Khan Chacha. United Coffee House. Kwality for chhole bhature. Or just Google for famous restaurants / eateries in & around Connaught Place.

Radheshyam Subhashkumar Chole Bhature is right opposite NDLS. Taste is quite good. But hygiene is nothing to write home about.
More famous and more hygienic
Sita Ram Diwan Chand is also not too far from NDLS. But it would be far from other places that you may want to visit.

Sitaram diwanchand for chhole bhature. 10 min e-rickshaw ride from ndls.
Wengers for world's best mutton patty, chicken Patty and shami kebab. Again, 10 mins e-rickshaw ride from ndls, but in the opposite direction from sitaram. I suggest you get finger food from here packed for the train journey. But Wengers shuts down around 7 pm.

Thanks SS-Traveller,vagabond128,Eddy,chinkara : I was looking for lunch options so wengers is out for me. But Sitram seems a good option for the first leg. Thanks for that. I will check out the other CP hotels for the second leg.

Do try their Rum Ball, world best. @Wengers
Enjoy your trip.
Dear Delhi guys, I will be in town over the coming weekend and am scouting for a nice pub/bar for a Saturday evening get together with cousins. Any good bar/pub recommendations in Saket area? Looking for good food and drinks, live music will be a plus but not those dark and loud places where you need to shout to be heard.
Thanks in advance!

I have been meaning to try Wengers ever since I saw this post. Got a chance today with a serving of mutton and chicken patty. I am not a mutton person but still found it good. And the chicken patty? Oh my lord. It was the best patty I have ever had. Totally justifies the price and the hype.
Also went to Kake da Hotel and Madras Cafe.
The non veg food at Kake is worth exploring for sure. Usually the big names from our parents generation are a disappointment, especially after the onslaught of franchise models. But this one manages to live up to the name. Don’t expect good service though. Also had to wait for 10 minutes despite landing up around 5 pm which was a surprise
Madras cafe on the other hand felt very average and nothing special. Just tried the filter and cold coffee here. Rates are reasonable though.

Yeah, I was there last week and surprised to see the prices had gone up again. I think I remember eating the patty at Rs 40. It is Rs 100 now but still, as you said, totally worth it.

This was my first time at Wengers so wasn’t aware of the steep price hike. At 40 bucks a piece, it would have been insane value for money. At 100, it felt expensive while paying. But this feeling quickly evaporated due to the heavenly taste.
Big thumbs-up to the recommendation :thumbs up
40rs was a deacde ago :)
60, 80, 90 and now 100 were the escalations.
