Just watched Saturday Night Fever, a 1977 movie starring John Travolta. One of his first super hits. I was literally blown away seeing Travolta's dancing skills. A good watch. The movie also features some excellent Disco music from BeeGee and others.

Well that explains all the oscar nominations its got (13). Btw I was just thinking what an upset of sorts will it be when apni SM quashes it at the oscars. 150 mn$ versus 15mn$. It will be like David vs. Goliath

Slumdog Millionaire is a British film with a bunch of Indians in it. Have the news channels started calling this film Indian now?

That was in Tamil. Expect SRK to be there in every scene in the movie. Irfan Khan will be sidelined.

ps - Priyanka Chopra looks HOT in that song of hers. Kareena & Deepika no match to her. *droool*

When Kuselan bombed, Priyadharshan commented that it was wrong on the director's part to have Rajnikanth in almost every other scene. He added that in his Billu Barber,SRK would only appear in the climax.

It was shot in India, co directed by an Indian, other than Dev Patel the entire cast is Indian, the music is by an Indian.

It's not an Indian film but definitly not a British film with a bunch of Indians in it.

My bad, only meant to ask if the news channels had started saying that it was an Indian movie. Still, the director's English, and the movie is produced by Warner and Fox.

I saw Slumdog Millionaire yesterday. Good film, made well. Very engrossing and a great idea for a movie. What i dont understand is why Rehman got an award for the music of this film.
Its wrong to say that the movie shows the poor and dirty side of India. What the heck If you are making a movie based on a character who lives in the slums of India, you couldn't shoot it at Malabar Hill could you?

Someone told me they had heard that Anil Kapoor acted very well in the film. Huh?? What?? The only role hes got is of a game show host and thats all the acting he did. There was also no scope. Am also getting tired of watching Mahesh Manjarekar do stereotyped roles of a gangster.

On the whole the film is a must watch

Its a feel good film unlike Changeling. That was a very well made film. Thats that. I dont like depressing films where they show that children get hacked up. Every true story does not have to be gory does it? I didnt enjoy the film though it was made very well. Clint Eastwood, get out of your gloom, make brighter movies.

Raaz 2 was ok kinds.. pathetic climax.

rating -3/5

Watching slumdog today, lesse if the hype is correct.

Captivity - Its about a successful model (played by Elisha Cuthbert) who wakes up to find herself locked in a room and being watched by someone who tortures her psychologically.
Nice movie ,but imo the ending was a little weak.
One time watch.

Raaz -2:

Rating 1.5/5.

See it if you want to see a movie desperately and have nothing else to do. I saw it yesterday in Bangalore after struggling 45 mins in Bangalore MG road traffic and my wife was really worried as she does not really enjoy the Ghost movies ( That to in a theater).

But guess what she came out of the theater laughing. The sound effect was good, songs are nice, particularly I like the song Mahi .. Suman jr was just not good enough. I guess he is not good for the big screen, I felt I was seeing some saas bahu serial actor.
Kangna Ranawat was Ok so was the serial kisser. As other people suggested the climax was pathetic.

Nothing so special about this movie. This is one movie which will come and go without impressing many.

I plead guilty.... :Frustrati

Frankly it takes talent for someone to take living legends like clooney and pitt to make such a movie which left me asking for water (and disprin) by the end.

If you wanna remain in your senses don't watch

Caught up with Final Destination on DVD yesterday. Brilliant concept and though it is not an out and out horror movie, it is quite scary. It keeps you on the edge of the seat all the time. A good watch but its quite gory.

Will be getting the other two sequels to watch. I heard they are more gory than the first one. Anyone seen all 3?

The 4th is releasing in Aug 2009 and its 3D.

I agree with reviews on Final Destination. Saw this move in a theater with friends when i was doing my engg , and while riding our cycles on our way back home, literally expected some truck to come charging at us outta nowhere and end us then and there. :D

Finally saw Slumdog yesterday.
My honest opinion -
Brilliant direction, great performances and a very poor story.
I did not liked at all the way INDIA has been portrayed as a cheap third world country and US as the greated of all.
Its a complete biased concept which does not portrays the true picture of India at all!
People who are promoting it for oscars and are Indian should feel ashamed as this movie is not what India is. Yes what is shown happens and poverty, slums and crime is a reality in India, however this is a bigger reality in places world over. What about Chicago, california where crime rate is so high.
i can go on and on but my exact feelings has been said in today's Times of India last page- at the bottom there is an article by Arindham Chaudhary. Very clear and correct.
Rating - 2/5

@Dippy- Ya i have seen all 3 parts and they are brilliant. 2 part is best. Do watch.:thumbs up
