Ahhh...seems like our TSK is a big fan of the new genre invented by the world famous Ramsey Brothers!

Anyone seen Lorenzo's Oil?

Hai,

Has enyone seen Lorenzo's Oil? Saw it way back in the 80's and it still haunts me. Story of parents trying to help their child with muscular dystropy (i think), which has no cure and they try some special oil as a cure. The acting was out of the world.

Wanted to use it for an MDP, could not find it anywhere. Anyone knows where to procure, anyone has a copy?

Thanks in Advance,

Saw a movie called 'Severence' last night. It's a gory funny horror comedy kind of a flick. Must watch.

Rod Zombie's The Devils Rejects (2005) and The House of 1000 Corpses (2003, I think) are pretty good "gore" movies.

These are not the typical mindless teen-slasher movies, but genuinely creepy-uncomfortable movies. The "creepiness" is induced not from outright gore but from the atmosphere and the characters (/acting).

I'm not particularly a fan of the genre (I hate slasher movies actually) but these two "gore" movies mentioned above, Irreversible (2002), and Pasolini's Salo (1975, a.k.a. 120 Days of Sodom) are movies that made me quite uncomfortable.

Irreversible and Sodom are not "gore" movies, but they rate high in being successful at self-inducing discomfort (why do we deliberately make ourselves uncomfortable and sick in the mouth, I wonder).

The rape scene in Irreversible is probably the rawest ever depiction of helplessness on one side and raw lust on the other (nobody feels like watching it again, though Monica Belucci is acting). All of Salo is totally "freaky".

EDIT: I forgot to add Cannibal Holocaust (1980). Yukkk!

i have seen irreversible and its a very sadistic kind of a movie. There is one scene where a man kills another man by thrashing his skull and its too gory.
although its a strong movie but i dint like it since the movie runs in the reverse order of events and once you finish half of the movie it gets very boring.
but for gore and sadism i will give it 4.5/5
