Nat Geo Invetigates and CSI were equally good. Used to watch them regularly.

Mahesh, well Friends is not my favourite actually. Street Hawk was back in those days. Today I find it difficult to choose between Hustle, Prison Break and Heroes from the current series.

How many of you have watched Hustle?

That was Der Alte. I think when we had only one channel, every english serial was eagerly watched by youngsters.

My favourite in the 80s was Star trek, nothing else.

Later in chrono order:

1) Growing Pains
2) Lois & Clark
3) Married with Children
4) Star Trek Voyager
5) Seinfeld
6) Enterprise
7) Sopranos
8) JAG

There was another... Oshin. Very popular in early 92-93, but I am not sure it was English or Japanese with subtitles.

You saw the re-run little boy, I was much older then.

Star trek was first telecast in Black and white. Also on Sunday mornings, even then. Season 1 on Doordarshan. 1979 or 1980. A young and dashing Captain James T. Kirk. And Spock's ears were even pointier.

Hell I remember when we had TV for a just a few hours everyday. One channel. And that mournful Doordarshan theme tune.

Sam, what we saw was also re-run, the original series happened between 1966-69. I too found out many years later about this.

Yeah but Samu, it ran in the US in 66-69. In 78-80 it ran in India for the first time. So technically, we saw the first run. It would be the re-run when they showed it again on indian TV.

Unless...

They didn't show it in India in 1966 did they? I would be totally .

May be I did see the rerun, my home didn't have TV until 1983. I started watching Star Trek only 1983 onwards, that too in black & white.
