I think it was a good and apt finale considering the way they build up the story. In fact any other would have looked bad.
In final season am expecting lot of main characters to die specially the one lady I hate the most.

Finished watching first season of The Sopranos.
Easily one of the best and deserves the high rating it gets.
Specially people who like Godfather will love this show.

Sopranos is one of the most well written tv shows I have seen. They mould each character so well. There is so much humor embedded in each episode. Very cleverly written.

Started watching Elementary. I could easily rate it amongst the best 5 shows I've seen till date. Sherlock and Watson make a great pair. Good watch on the weekends!

The Sopranos is one of the legendary shows!
I also liked O.Z by HBO. Really brilliant!

Watched it till the middle of season 2. Sherlock stops being Sherlock and becomes just another run of the mill detective

I hate it when that happens. And this almost always happens with good shows. They start off with such excitement and potential and die down by the end of the second season. The third season and onwards (if and when they air) mostly suck.

Any idea of "Sherlock" - the BBC series?

The BBC Sherlock is probably the best Sherlock till date. Benedict Cumberbatch is brilliant and the story line and direction is top notch. Season 1 & 2 are very very good and hoping that season 3 is better!

Howdy Folks!

Any "Doctor Who" fans here?
My wife and I are contemplating taking this up, after wrapping up Supernatural.

If you are a fan, please do share the correct procedure to start watching the series.
As I understand, there are multiple versions and 12 Doctors that have been a part of this series.

Another question is, is this show even remotely funny? Or is it serious through and through?
We like watching stuff that is inherently funny, such as Modern Family, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Chuck, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory.
While I've watched other stuff too, such as Sherlock, Lost, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, I've found that we enjoy funnier stuff more when compared to outright serious stuff.

Any other fun shows you would like to recommend? Let me know!

CBS website (cbs.com) has full episode videos of all the series that they air, uploaded within a day of telecasting the episode. It is restricted to US IP addresses but a proxy can help here. I'm following Big Bang Theory Season 7 from the website.

I was curious whether there was any way where my internet bandwidth is not used up as I need it for TBBT and Sherlock from Jan

Not sure if it would be available online in BBC website.

It starts from Jan 19 on PBS (for US)

I hope pbs.org will have the episodes uploaded without much delay.

I speak for only the fourth and eleventh doctor. The eleventh (2005 series) is quite well made. Fun and serious at times, but mostly fun. The fourth doctor, on the other hand, is almost edging on goofy. But he's a favourite for many Who fans and his seasons lasted the longest in spite of having a low budget feel for its time.

I'd suggest you take a look at some the FAQs at http://www.reddit.com/r/doctorwho/wiki/index and take a call. At the very least, I'd suggest giving the 2005 series an honest chance.
