Been watching "Luther", crime/detective drama. It's good but the side plots to keep some continuity are a distraction. Some of his deductions are a bit far fetched but nowhere as bad as CSI etc

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Anybody watching Making A Murderer on Netflix? I saw 4 episodes yesterday.
It is a documentary / drama about Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in jail for a crime he did not commit. He got out based on DNA evidence, only to be sent back to jail for a murder in 2 years. All this is in the description somewhere so I am not revealing any spoilers here. Besides, it is true story so people can just look it up on wikipedia.
As for the series, it is very well made, keeps you engrossed and involved. It is a must watch in my books.

I've started watching from start. The series is pretty addictive. We are halfway through the first season over the weekend already Hopefully will try to complete by the end of this month.

I've watched 12 Monkeys (1st Season - 13 Episodes), on Netflix in the last weekend. This is based on the original movie 12 Monkeys and even though I was skeptical at first, I turned into a fan. Very very well made and not a dull moment. Must Watch.

Another series that I have started is The Leftovers - 2 episodes in I find it really intriguing.

It's a really good show. Latest season had only 2 episodes and that was a bummer.

Finished all 4 seasons of Luther, loved it. The series does have minor flaws in storyline but that's ok as the overall direction is brilliant.

Now watching The Fall, another serial killer based BBC series. I have finished season 1 & on Season 2 now, its very engaging series & it was refreshing to see Gillian Anderson after such a long time. The Northern Irish accents make this series even more interesting to watch

People on Netflix watch prakh blinders for early 20th century British gang scene, really good imo. Also Narcos is brilliant if you can handle 80% Spanish with subs.

It's nowhere as good as season 1 IMO, but still worth watching.

Here are some of my favourites, suggestions that span across genres-
Lost, Breaking bad, Curb your enthusiasm, Prison break, Weeds, Shark tank and dragons den, Stargate universe, humans, Avatar the last airbender.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

I see there are no takers for old comedy serials - Yes, minister/prime minister; Are you being served?; Becker (Ted Danson) etc - It's great catching up with them on You Tube, specially the episodes one missed. Laughter without too much cerebral effort - can one ask for more!

Caught up with Fargo season 1 few weeks back!

Brilliant show. One of those serials where the antagonist(s) have a greater role and put up a better show over the rest. Reminded me of Gus Fring of Breaking Bad but even more intimidating! Martin Freeman was good too. Never got boring at any point.

Season 2 is a WIP. In the meantime, Banshee's last season has been postponed to April 1. :(
