I watched 2 episodes looking at the excellent cast ensemble. However, not funny and dialogues fall flat. Couldn't find it interesting enough to find out time and continue watching. If I had time though, would still watch it for the actors.

Hansal Mehta is a genius director, and absolutely killed it. What a story!
What a show Thanks for the recommendation. It's one of the best I've watched this year and we are only 4 episodes in. Excellent acting + directing. Am a big fan of business shows, so this one is literally the crème de la crème of TV for me.

Thanks again!

Serious Men

Another Nawazuddin Siddiqui special helmed by Sudhir Mishra. A father’s need to rise above the cast system and making his son complicit in the quest is what drives this wonderful picture. Quite a revelation the small child actor and the picture is a wonderful watch.

Scam 1992- Harshad Mehta Story

Agree with GTO and Sebring here that the series is a gem. Little big on technicalities of the financial world but what a hoot of a series. Every casting is spot on and the wonderful part is, we get to see many forgotten faces of the yesteryears like Vivek Vaswani, Mamik, Lalit Parimoo, Sadab Khan and so on.

The series is an eye opener in the sense that the man has been portrayed as a scapegoat despite of the manipulations of the stock market, enormous clout and money he held during his heydays. It was fun to watch Chandraswami lookalike because we all knew what kind of power broker he was back in the days !! Absolute must watch but I guess, people not big on financial technicalities will perhaps not like the series.

Bad Boy Billionaires

Three part series of three notorious men who rose through to make money, only to squander all of it through dubious dealings and miscalculations resulting in being declared offenders and fugitives although Subroto Roy is not counted as a fugitive yet. The series is not that objective and have been given a fair share of dressing. Some few men apart Mallya, Nirav Modi also come to my mind who could have been part of this series namely, Ramalinga Raju- the erstwhile Satyam chairman, Mehul Choksi etc.

Good watch and not necessarily engaging.

Fargo on Amazon Prime and Netflix, currently in its season 4 is an absolute must watch for those who love Murder-crime dramas with bit dark comedy twist. A mastepiece by Coen Brothers.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Recently completed the binge-watching of "Emily in Paris" on Netflix, a quirky, irreverent take on life and culture in France, (quite stereotyped, but fun).

For those who would like a bit of French flair amidst the heap of mundane saans bahu, dark murky whodunits, and grimy heartland gangster theme shows, this is a bit of a "l'air frais" .

Rita
Something different from the usual crime drama that I've been watching. I've just watched two episodes and I'm hooked. Rita is someone you want on your side, especially if you are a kid. Someone like inspector Hathiram Chaudhary of Pataal lok, but without all that violence.
Funny, and full of insights into human nature. 5/5
Imdb rating 8.1

I liked the show High on MX Player.

Its a crazy and almost whacky plot of some miracle drug that will cure a lot of neurological issues. It also is something that will cure a drug addict.

So they have a drug company and a drug dealer after them!!!!

For a free streaming service I am very impressed with MX Player.
I liked Ashram on the same platform as well.

Binge-watched Tehran on Apple TV+ over the last two days.

The show is about a Mossad plot in Iran; everything about the show is right up there - right from the actors to the storyline. Fauda focussed on Israel - Palentine relations, and this show is about the conflict with Iran.

4.5/5

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Started watching a new series "Next" on Hotstar which is about a rogue AI and a billionare founder's efforts to stop it.
So far two episodes are available and new ones will come every Wednesday.
Has started well, would give it 4.5/5 - I really like the theme and dramatization. This one is a simple one, without all the foul language and is family friendly (12+)

Watched 'The Boys' on Amazon Prime. The basic premise behind this series is what happens when superheroes go rogue & start abusing their powers. The show is amazing & unique in its own way. Its a gripping show alright though a few sub-plots in Season 2 may not be that interesting.

It even got my 9 year old hooked on. Totally liked the way that the financial aspects are nicely and subtly explained with frequent repetition.

A fantastic show.

A fantastic show.

Don't think it is an appropriate show for a 9 year old with all the abusive language.

I agree completely. It is a very interesting watch, but the Deep sidetrack is boring as hell.
