Man these Koreans know how to make Zombie themed movies/series!!
Really well made. Must watch if you like either Zombie themes or Korean dramas. |
It was a very thrilling ride indeed :) Watching Kingdom now.

Kingdom is really good as well!
Hard to understand the locations mentioned but quite good once you get the hang.

I'm sure that is a typo. But, there has been only
one movie on Reacher starring Tom Cruise. I love Tom Cruise and admire him for his wonderful career.
But, for someone like me who read all Lee Child novels, Tom just did not fit the bill.
Reacher series is the closest you can get to novel. It's not easy to replicate a book into a movie/series and there has been a very few successes (A few books of Grisham converted to movies come to mind) and Reacher definitely is one of them.

+1
All of Us Will Die (5/5)
I never thought I can give a zombie movie 5* but, this series definitely deserve it.
As many others said, Koreans have perfected the art of zombie movies and took it to a different level.
What makes AOUWD different is amazing characters with whom you can relate, feel sorry, hate and even love them. Imagine the creativity of combining a zombie movie with heavy dose of emotions. A difficult task but, they pulled it off superbly.
I took me almost a couple of weeks to run through the series (1-Episode at a time to extend the enjoyment as I don't like to binge watch stuff that is really awesome.:D)

There were two actually. The second one had Cobie Smulders from “How I Met Your Mother”. :)

I never read the books so just took the movies as they came when I watched - enjoyed them too. But did like the larger than life physical persona of the guy in the series. Suited the character from what I’ve read here about the books.
Currently watching 'Inventing Anna' on Netflix. Story of a Con Artist.
Good watch.
I enjoyed watching Reacher on Amazon Prime. I guess there will always be comparisons with the Tom Cruise movies. But I don't mind different portrayals of the same character.
I liked the way Roscoe & Finlay's characters were written as well.
Off topic:
Did anybody else enjoy the moment where a pivotal character remarks about his/her car windows being tinted without their knowledge? (or did you see it coming? I did :D)

Shucks, I was not even aware there were 2 JR movie. I don't remember which one I saw. I just recall, it had a nice fight scene outside a bar where Tom floors a few people in one-go. Need to check out other one.

Nice to know. It stars Julie Garner (Ruth Langmore from Ozark) and she played such a superb and pivotal role in Ozark that it blew my mind, including her accent.
If you haven't seen Ozark, don't miss it.

:)
Waiting for the Final set of Episodes. release on 29th April I believe
Magpie Murders - 4/5
Two parallel stories running along and yet, connected to each other. A murder in real life which ties to murder in a book. While it was a little confusing at the beginning, getting around two different stories and its characters, they fell in place and it was an interesting watch.
I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes and Hercules Poirot mysteries. This one was equally good if not better.
Available on Sony LIV.

That's the 1st one.
Second one is good as well but not on the level of first one. Still a good watch.
Ozark is top class. I believe Julie Garner even won an Emmy twice for her role.
I know a few people who gave it up cos initial episodes are a bit slow but then it moves on at a good pace. Highly recommended for crime fans.

Damn!! You are 100% right. After reading about Ozark on TBHP and recommendations from my friends, I started watching it; however, the pace is too damn slow. I reached the S1 E5 and have kinda lost the interest in this series. But every time I read about Ozark on TBHP, it pushes me to resume the series. LOL. Maybe I will do that today.
‘The Book of Boba Fett’ on Hotstar. Nice short series with 7 episodes. 1.5 of which is mostly dedicated to Mando and Grogu(partially felt like Mandalorian 2.5) but never the less good watch. All these star wars based series are turning out to be great watches.
Rating:4/5 :thumbs up
Reacher on Amazon Prime - a solid 5/5 !
I binge watched this in a go ! The story, the actions and the protagonist all are just perfect. Plethora of classic songs scattered across the series makes it even better. 5 th and 6th episodes do get a bit boring introducing "I know a guy who knows a guy" kind of characters but it's needed for storyline I guess ? PS - I have not read the books, but have watched Tom Cruise's movies, but he didn't feel like the character he's supposed to be. Alan Ritchson is damn good in the series though ! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Over the years I have learned a simple thing. If some series is highly recommended it usually deserves the praise. However, first season mostly is slow paced as they take time in world building and character building. So, always go till second season as things vastly improve second season onwards.
