Seconded.
One of the rare English series which gets better season after season. Otherwise most series starts degrading in quality once couple of season are done and they get famous. Word of appreciation for the makers who didn't stretched it unnecessarily and sticked to the script. A satisfying ending as well.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Yeah, 3 body problem on Netflix is 4/5 from me too!

Sci fi drama series made by makers of Game of Thrones. The music score is also by Ramin Djawadi of GoT fame. The series starts with cryptic happenings involving world's top physicists and picks up pace nicely. It does a great job of keeping you hooked till the end. There are a couple of actors from GoT too. Nice throwback!

It has everything that Sci fi fan like me seeks in such series but as a bonus it has my new found interest, aliens! Acting is fine overall and so is story based on a novel of the same name.

Eagerly waiting for the second season now. Definitely better of the lot that Netflix currently has running.

The 7th episode today took a major deviation from the book, making me wonder where it is going...

Keep in mind this story can't change too much. After all, many of the characters in the serial are based on real historical people. Anjin San is totally fictional.

Unfortunately it has been removed from Prime video in India. I started to watch the second time when they had started the announcement as "leaving soon on prime video"

Marco Polo (Netflix)

Randomly started watching this and felt season 1 was pretty good. season 2 sort of started meandering a bit and ultimately the show got cancelled.

Would have been nice to have a proper ending to the series.

Nice watch nonetheless

Fool me Once

OTT : Netflix

I'm a fan of Harlen Coben and somehow I seemed to have missed this series. However, he seems to be repeating himself from a story telling perspective.

Started and completed 3 episodes and it has all the quintessential Harlen pieces- Suburban UK environment, Rich people in Mansions, Family Secrets and some twists and turns.

I like Richard Armitage who is a regular in Harlen Coben series. But, I don't see him much till now.

Lead actress is super wooden and believing her to be a army pilot is rather unbelievable.

Looks interesting but, not as much as of his previous work.

3.5/5

Watched Two Strangers on Netflix. Its about how black Americans are seen and treated. A good 32 minute short movie. Addresses the bias they face in society.

Oops, it appears I was wrong. Since the latest Shogun serial started, lot more info has come out.

John Blackthorne or Anjin-san also existed in history.

If you like English humor, violence and odd ball characters spawn across the entire series mouthing some brilliant & witty lines then you should grab a brew, park your backside on the couch, and let yourself into this roller coaster ride of Theo James's world.
Agreed with the rating.

The 1st 2 episodes gave me a feeling that Guy Ritchie is not comfortable in this Long multi-episode format. But then, the rest of the Episodes were a roller coaster. I've enjoyed all his movies and this series gives me the sense of watching all his movies together of which there are several links one can find. Think about it.

Whilst Giancarlo Esposito is apt for the role of the suave drug lord, he looks far less menacing compared to his role as Gustavo Fring. Especially in the end. Hope he's got a bigger role in the next season if at all Guy Ritchie chooses to make one.

3 Body Problem - Netflix 4.5/5

It's truly worth the time, with fantastic visuals and content that keeps the mind actively engaged throughout. We won't experience even a moment of boredom; it's definitely a must-watch. Particularly the visual of China's flashback of Red Coast.

I finished it yesterday. I might also revisit it in an year or two like you did.

This is the first of any creation by junior Nolan that I have watched. I'm flabbergasted to say the least. It is a 10/10.

I have already started watching his next, Westworld.
Down 1 episode, I'm pretty sure it'd be a great watch too.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Enough has been said already but I can't stop praising Shogun. The latest episode had me choking. I don't remember in a long time when that happened last (may be GoT). It was wild whirlwind of emotions. I was sad, happy, dumbfounded everything at once.

One particular scene is shot in a tiny tea room - I can't fathom how deeply satisfying it felt. There is no action, mild background score and just two people conversing keeping the words bare minimum and yet it left me amazed. Epic.

Don't know how next episodes/seasons will go but the first 8 episodes should go down as as modern day classics already.

Each streaming service has a "worth it for just that one" series and Shogun is that series for Hulu.

Adding to the praise rolls for Shogun, I just wanted to add one more

"I think Shogun is one of the best series ever made. Period"

S1E8 took it to a different level altogether!
