Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

I Am Not A Robot - Korean Series, have watched multiple times. 7/10.

Crash Landing On You - Korean Series, have watched more then 10-12 times. 9.5/10

Queen Of Tears - Korean Series - 8/10

Encounter - korean series watched multiple times 8/10

All of above series has strong female lead which is what makes it so interesting to watch.

I can watch something I like multiple times as its easy on the brain also because constant search for something new can get exhausting. Similar to how we used to watch same casette in vcr multiple times.

Note:

Would highly recommend watching in Korean Language with subtitles of choice. Listening in original language connects you with emotion and feelings expressed in dialogue / situation.

More over this way one ends up only doing one thing and thats good as it gives brain break from multi tasking and getting diverted.

I realized there are only 2 seasons on Apple TV+. Not sure if S3 is released and if yes, why its not on Apple TV+.

I will watch the 10th ep tonight. Have watched The Bureau 3 times earlier.
The Agency is good, but not good enough imho. A lot of things they missed out.

For eg. In The Bureau in one of the scenes, Malotru is just sitting at his desk and gives a smile, all alone by himself. The smile means he is content with his trade and it means nothing to him whether others in the world or his office acknowledge his success. The Bureau is an art in itself, it has finesse, detail and extreme attention to detail to the storyline, to the characters, to the roleplay, to the music and the sequence.
Each character played in The Bureau is portrayed as a strong one. No character remains sidelined, they are spies and each one is better than the other, as in real life. There is no one who cannot act alone in any circumstance, like in the real trade. So close to reality.

The Agency, in comparison is just another remake in English. It lacks the touch. Moreover, Martian is portrayed as being affected by events. He becomes violent, kills and gets nervous. Malotru acts like a real spy, indifferent to troubles and just does his job.

I wish i were a professional reviewer who could write succinctly about both.

Cassandra (4/5)
Netflix

When I started watching it, I had thought it's another Sci fi series but it turns out it has got more layers.
Interesting to watch the plot - Old AI home automation assistant when resurrected, does intriguing things.
The story is good mix of suspense, thrill, drama and kind of fusion of exorcism with technology
Cast is good. Pace is slow but not boring.

Finished Landman last week - It’s about the Texas oil industry and stars Billy Bob Thornton. Definitely recommend.

Just started Prime Target on Apple TV - it’s about mathematicians working on prime numbers being killed when they come close to solving something. The storyline is fiction and has some plot holes but it’s well made, like most Apple TV shows. Weekly episodes are still releasing.

Have been watching Blacklist on Netflix for 8 seasons now, some outlandish plots for sure, but quite engaging for the most part. Wish crimes could be solved so quickly..

And with ridiculous amounts of charm. Enjoy until you can, the charm does wear off.

Would highly recommend a little known series called 'Drops of God' on Apple TV+. Connoisseurs of wine should particularly enjoy it.

'Dark Matter' (again on Apple TV+) was also very good. The concept of multiverses has been quite popular recently in movies, and this show handles it quite differently.

Both the shows can be watched with family, but do make sure to see the content rating.

Invincible 5/5

If anyone likes The Boys, they have to check out the animated series 'Invincible' on Prime.

Another reason this series had a special aura was the location chosen-Nagaland.
It's great to see the backdrop moving to unfamiliar territory like Nagaland. They tend to stereotype but the team has done a fabulous job of educating us about Nagaland without impacting the gripping narration. Kudos to the team. I enjoyed this a lot more compared to Season 1.

Wrong Side of the Tracks - Netflix (Early to rate)

Started watching this yesterday and just finished episode 1 and I liked it. Its one of those series which keeps you engaged from the 1st episode, rather than taking time for the build-up.
