Since Adolescence is getting mentioned a lot, it reminded me of another four episodes marvel on Netflix - When They See Us.
Based on a true incident, this is gripping story of racism and police excess in US. Do watch.
Another mini series worth anyone’s time is - Unbelievable. The lead actors especially Merritt Wever and Toni Collette did an incredible job. I would not go as far as to reveal the plot but what a fabulous job the director did in portrayal of the rape victim. Equally relevant in India.

This Aussie show Utopia is like Yes Minister show from the 70s. Anyone know how to watch this in India?

Khakee- The Bengal Chapter Netflix - 4.5/5

Amazing - When I started watching it, I felt it did not match the production quality or the aura of the Bihar Chapter, heck I thought the lead actors too did not have the charm of the Karan Thacker who was the lead in the Bihar Chapter, but was I wrong. As the serious progressed, the character build up happened, I saw more of Bengal and Kolkata, it grew on me and did it grow or what.

By the end of 2nd episode, I was hooked and by the end of the series, I rewatched it again. Twice in 10 days.

Amazing.

Has gripping story line, character build up is good, you see the raw Kolkata which is just amazing as mostly all webseries or movies that come, concentrate only on UP/Bihar or Mumbai, you see people and cultures which are new to people from this side atleast.

All in all, a must watch.

High Potential

Streaming: Hotstar

A 13 episode season of a major crime unit in LA solving mysteries using the help of a cleaning lady tuned to super sleuth who has a high IQ and can see things which others miss. I enjoyed watching the episodes although none of the episodes were of Sherlock Holmes/Hercule Poirot levels but still watchable.

Rating: 3/5

I haven't opened the television for over 10 days due to work related travel.

When I switched on yesterday night, I was overwhelmed to see so many new exciting series/movies getting added on Netflix that I must have added around 10 of them to my watchlist. Now I am lost where to start...rl:

Can someone recommend the top 3 series/movies on Netflix to watch this weekend?

Thanks. I absolutely love this genre and literally Top 10 movies/series of all times is from this genre and with a close affinity to anything British as I feel their storytelling, dialogue delivery and wit is far superior to the American ones.

1. Godfather
2. Lock, Stock, Two Smoking Barrels
3. Snatch
4. Fargo (movie and series)
5. Breaking Bad (Series)
6. Pulp Fiction
7. Reservoir Dogs
8. Better Call Saul
9. Bosch
10. Dexter

Whew, there you go....a few more can be added to above list but, that is more or less my unbeatable and unmatchable list....:D

I did watch first few episodes with high expectation after watching few reels about the same, but got disappointed and stopped. If you liked this genre and haven't watched "Mentalist", I suggest you to give it a go. I am sure you will love it. Another good watch is "Monk", but it will be leaving netflix soon I think.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had watched both your recommendations long time ago and had enjoyed them.

The White Lotus - Season 3

Whatta season! It compares to Season 1 in darkness. However, I feel the last episode was a bit hurried. Could have been better.

Otherwise - 4/5

The Lioness is out on Prime Video and The Agency is out on JioHotStar.

Funny because I was searching for these Paramount series on Paramount TV Channel on Jio and they decided to spread them across.

Btw, The Lioness is pretty good. No wonder Zoe Saldana is the second highest revenue grossing actress in Hollywood. Just completed S01.
My rating 4/5. :thumbs up

+1

Lioness season 1 is a good watch. Zoe Saldana is good but De Oliveira does a fabulous job. Definitely worth a watch for anyone who likes spy thrillers :thumbs up
My rating 4/5

Karma a South Korean Series on Netflix.

I liked it. Its very dark and has a lot of bad things happen to a lot of people. But the threads tie up as the show progresses.

Not sure if everyone will like it.

The Residence - Netflix

This whodunit series with a bit of humor thrown in stars Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, a detective based on similar lines as perhaps Poirot. After her performance in Orange is the new Black, it was good to see her excel in this role as an offbeat detective exploring various clues in trying to solve a mystery in the White House.

The 8 episode series started off well, slowed down massively in between and then quickly gathered pace towards the end, enough to keep you entertained, ie if you didn't lose patience midway.

Worth a watch.

Watched the first episode. Don't think I can go any further than that :sadface
