OT: I watched game of thrones from the very beginning and waited for every episode and every season and the second I told a friend about it last week, he managed to watch 4 seasons in 3 days and is suddenly a bigger fan than me and just can't stop yapping about it all the time. It's just so irritating. Wish I'd never told him.

I have watched GoT season 1 but frankly I don't remember much now and probably did not pay much attention while watching. I will have to start GoT again right from start later on.
I am almost at the end of Castle season 6 and will be starting True Blood tomorrow.

GoT is considered one of the best TV series, so yes you can go ahead with it. But if you want to see something from start to end (as in no future seasons) then I suggest Breaking Bad. Bit slow paced but an awesome show nevertheless. There is a reason it is rated 9+ on IMDB.

I personally try to watch shows which have either got ended or have been done with lot of seasons (4 and more). Hence picking up True Blood now.

Thanks! Will start with GoT and Breaking Bad parallely.

Same here. Shows which ended can be watched with no breaks. Now having watched 4 seasons, I am desperately waiting for TWD season 5.

There is this Sci-fi TV series - Fringe. I watched the first episode in FoxCrime and got hooked. It is highly far fetched and looks like a cross between X-files and many old English movies. But it hooks you nevertheless.

Dr.Bishop says this - Open your mind to the impossible. At times you may find the Truth there.

Another: Even as a Scientist, sometimes I have to rely on Faith.

Just wiped off the first season of "under the dome".

It's pretty slick all things considered. Based on the book by King apparently.
Not to be missed if you're a sci-fi buff.
Best part is, second season underway!

Someone recommended me Suits, after I told them I loved Breaking Bad - and I am hooked. Finished off 2 Seasons in the weekend.
Oh and I am still wary of watching TV Soaps and go with prior feedback. Somehow watched a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones and did not like the gore.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Finished Season 2 of Orange is the New Black pretty decent series except for the excessive flesh show.

Watched, season 1 pilot for Game of Thrones & found it not to my liking so abandoned that series.

Started watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. & its turning out to be quite a treat, its becomes intense every episode & the production quality is top notch.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

I am surprised that no one here is watching "The Good Wife"

It airs on Zee Cafe daily Monday through Friday @ 9.00 pm. To give you some perspective 'Suits' is play school whereas 'TGW' is College syllabus. Yes, another sitcom based on lawyers but with interwoven subplots running long term as well as per episode.

For those who had withdrawal symptoms after "Breaking Bad" tune in to "The Americans" on Star Premiere, again @9.00 pm every week night.

It is based on the dynamics between an FBI agent and a KGB sleeper cell composed of a couple in an 'arranged marriage' complete with kids borne out of the said arrangement and on top of everything these guys are neighbours.

Set in Washington DC in the Reagen era (1980s or was it early '90s).

The one thing that is common between the two serials is that both feature two Indian origin actresses. The Good Wife has "Archie Punjabi" essaying the character of 'Kalinda Sharma' and The Americans features 'Nina' played by "Anita Devi Mahendru", screen name "Annet Mahindru" (half Indian half Rusky).

Both the actors have prominent roles (currently) and are a pleasure to watch.
