The kids profile in Netflix is very good. I can safely hand the remote to my daughter in the kids profile. As you mentioned tons of options and several good ones which adults can watch too

The Umbrella Academy : 3 / 5

This is a pretty neat series. With a mix of ideas from multiple superhero genres, Netflix has actually a good multi-season series on their hands. Unfortunately what this is not, is a 10 episode story script. And that's where the series falls flat; by the time you reach the fifth episode, you already realize how the story is going to unfold and painfully watch the rest of the episodes (or if you are like me, just fast forward and run through it).

Watch it with the hopeful expectations that following seasons might be a lot more interesting! Btw Netflix has a pretty neat ad for this show!

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

I really enjoyed the Umbrella Academy. But then I am enjoying Doom Patrol too.

On the non super power side, Secret city was really good. Australian TV is delightful, even though I did not have much hopes after sitting through 1 episode of Pine Gap.

Now I know, as far as Australian TV shows are concerned, you have to watch them as you would watch a British one.

Other shows I am watching are the Magicians, Star Trek Discovery (Which has gotten much more interesting in the Second season, and if I saw why it will be Spoilers).

In International shows I enjoyed Boru. Goes a bit in the chest thumping territory like all Army / Special forces drama's do, but then the Action is truly amazing, and character development is very solid. Watch it in Turkish with Subtitles, rather than dubbed (Which makes it weird. Imaging watching Gangs of Wasseypur with everyone speaking the queens English). One warning. You will not be able to enjoy Indian shows which "supposedly" have set the bar in action (Like one recent movie which is supposed to have real kickass action)

Metro Park : 1.5 / 5

So the online shows/series fight is heating up with Indian media houses putting in their efforts against the likes of Netflix, HBO, Amazon and whatnots.

Eros Now has launched the first season of Metro Park; a comedy series of a few Gujju+other household families based out of Metropark, NJ. The pilot episode, available on Youtube is quite good, which raises the bar for the rest of the episodes. But once you get to start watching the following episodes, the jokes fall flat and the shows literally start boring you. I started fastforwarding the episodes, and then left it at that.

Give it a miss if you ask me.

Patriot act on Netflix is just brilliant, especially with the first episode on Indian elections! Just spot on and hard hitting! Love his take on the whole Indian political drama .

Made in Heaven: 4/5 (Amazon Prime)

Great story, great cinematography, amazing acting. Didn't like the ending, but a good watch overall.

Could anybody shed some light on The Punisher? Reviews are good but from the trailer I do not see much depth in the storyline.

Tidying Up with Marie Kondo
The World's Most Extraordinary Homes.
Both on Netflix.

The Marie Kondo show is about how you should go about organizing your home.
Clean out stuff you will never need and re-arrange stuff you will need.
Marie Kondo is a best selling author of books on organizing your home.

The second show is about extraordinary homes around the world.
I was fascinated by episode 2 which featured homes in India but they stuck to the suburbs of Mumbai only.

The Punisher is based on a movie of the same name.
Season 1 was excellent. Season 2 is good.
Lot of people found season 2 to be drab and sort of plodding.
I found season 2 to be like a Lee Child novel where the protagonist is inadvertently caught up in the affairs of a stranger and goes out of his way to help the stranger out.
Do watch season 1 and if you like it then watch season 2.
The series has been cancelled by Netflix.

Wayne : 4.5 / 5

In a world of 'weirdos', how do two 'weirdos', that two teenagers with no other options survive? Well, you need to watch season 1 of Wayne to figure that out.

A completely fresh outlook, brutal, at times gruesome, but refreshingly brilliant and at times with an ironically comical outlook at life, this is a very well put series by Youtube (yup, they are in the fray too). Episode 1 is free to all, the following episodes are available with Youtube Premium; if you open to options like me, a simple search on google will give you alternative options.

Till date, this has turned out to be one of the best series I have watched this year.

Only watched 2 episodes so far, yet will give Delhi Crime (Netflix) 5 / 5 stars. It's on the Nirbhaya tragedy. Very real, very upsetting as to the kind of animals out there in this world.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Binge watched 5 episodes of Delhi Crime earlier today.

What a relief to watch a realistic take on a case that gripped India 7 years ago. The show has a fluidity around its narration & illustrates intricacies of actual policing while also diving into its internal red tape, bureaucracy, turf wars & lack of resources.

The steely resolve of the main protagonist, the dedication & perseverance of her team leaves you spell bound and also enlightens you about the less than ideal working conditions of the grass root policing that a majority of the audience is unaware of.

Take a bow Richie Mehta, Shefali Shah, Rasika Duggal, Rajesh Tailang & Adil Hussain.

Wayne is loosely premised on "The End Of The F**ing World" which is available on Netflix India.
I have seen Wayne and it gets progressively better as the series continues.
Every character is well thought of and the finale ties it up well.
The young protagonist Ciara Bravo who plays Dell is a very fine actress at her young age.

Hanna Amazon Prime (India)

Hanna dropped this morning on Amazon Prime. It consists of only 8 episodes.
The first episode is very good. This is going to be my weekend watch.

Hanna is based on a movie of the same name released in 2011.
The film starred Eric Bana, Saoirse Ronan & Cate Blanchett as the villian.

Good to see the two stars of "The Killing (US)" on opposite sides in the tv series.

Thank you for the recommendation. I completed 3 seasons back to back. It's a well made series. Will be starting with season 4 tomorrow.

On a side note, there were some accusations in US media that this series was made to glorify/publicize Hillary Clinton, who was the Secretary of State , while the series was running on US TV's. Also, Elizabeth McCord has uncanny resemblance to Hillary, in terms of looks.
