Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

I will start season 5 of Line of Duty tonight. The first 4 seasons were very good, although there is a pattern that you can eventually figure out. I have a very strong hunch about how the series will end.

Is the access to season 5 via VPN or is it available on some regular platforms too?

Not available on regular Indian platforms yet, as far as I know.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Hi Guys,

Quick help needed. I wanted to watch Creed 2 on Amazon prime, which is available in US.

Technically, when I connect on my NordVPN and connect to US servers, it should the available US movies as well.

As of now, it is not showing the US library to me.

What am I missing?

My Sis watched it in India on NetFlix. But, it is NOT showing up on NetFlix, here in US.

Don’t spill the beans here since I guess we will have to wait for the season 5.. tried through the VPN route but couldn’t get through. And yes, I have hunch too about the ‘H’ part of it and season 4 actually gives out many clues if my grey cells caught them alright

Watched 'Sacred Games' on Netflix. Agree with most of the reviews here. As good as Season 1 was, Season 2 was disappointing & underwhelming! Good performances by the entire starcast. Certainly one of the better if not the best Indian series on Netflix.

Season 5 is available on Netflix in Australia, if that helps.

Saw 'Vexed' on Netflix. Story about 2 detectives & how they go about solving crimes. Its a comedy with typical british humour. Season 1 consisting of 3 episodes is more than decent with some funny moments. The chemistry between the 2 leads was pretty good. Season 2 was a letdown comparatively & is just not entertaining enough. For some reason they changed the female lead in the 2nd season.

Thanks for this suggestion, completed all 4 seasons today. I must say this is a good watch, frankly I didn’t have high hopes when I started but ya kind of got glued to it from second season onwards.

Looking forward to some other series now while the 5th season is in process.

I am glad you enjoyed "Queen Of The South"
The original Spanish series "La Reina del Sur" it is based off, is available on Netflix. But only two season are available. I haven't seen it.

"Bosch" on Netflix.
If you like crime noir, I will suggest this series.
This series is based on a character from the novels of Michael Connelly.
Most seasons are adapted from a couple of books.

"Russian Doll" Netflix
A good series sadly with only one season of 8 episodes out.

The Americans on Hotstar
This is an excellent series about KGB agents sent to the US as sleeper cell who are a couple and their adventures. Do watch.

I have seen all seasons on Prime in India.

EDIT: One of my favorite, no nonsense TV series. Eagerly waiting for the next season.

It is an error on my part. Should have been “Prime”
Thank you for correcting my error.

Just completed the series Mindhunter on Netflix. Its a good watch, about 19 episodes in total. What made me choose this was simple, the director, David fincher who has given us some fantastic films like Seven, Fight club, Zodiac and many more. I would put this series on the lines of the Zodiac, very slow, but at the same time very intriguing. If you are looking for fast paced action and crime, this may not be it. Quite surprised that Asif Kapadia, who had made the documentary Senna, also made a few episodes in this series.

The plot is like a prelude to the whole serial killing crimes, its more about an investigation on what makes people do these kind of grizzly murders. Definitely not a whodunnit kind of plot, but more like why did someone do it.

Post this Im trying to watch Ozark, but after 4 episodes I know this is not in the league of the last 3 series I watched, Narcos, Fauda and MindHunter. So trying to see what I can watch. Breaking bad seems to have fantastic reviews, but somehow I cannot see myself watching 60 episodes. Any recommendations please?

There’s a fantastic series on Netflix named Occupied that comes from Norway. Highly recommended.

Also, people who love good music should find the series Times of Music engaging. Specially some of the episodes featuring Amit Trivedi, Mohan Kannan, Palash Sen and Indian Ocean.
