Watched Haunting of hill house and while it did have its moments, i felt it leaned more towards drama than to horror.

So skipped haunting of bly manor.

Marianne was a good watch.

Might try the Lore next.

Tryst with Destiny- Sonyliv

Starring a stellar cast of Ashish Vidyarthi, Ishwak Singh, Victor Banerjee, Lillette Dubey, Jaideep Ahlawat, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sial, Palomi Ghosh, Kani Kusruti, Geetanjali Thapa, the series is an anthology of stories which have a underlying inter connected theme. Each story has its own strength but it’s the first and second chapter which are absolute brute. The second one is heart wrenching and is a punch in the gut. For people who love to see serious stories, this is an absolute must watch, pure acting masterclass.

Rating- 4.5/5

I find so much of this linkage to India, a little eerie!
The "Shiv" is a diminutive of "Siobhan", a female name of Irish origin. Funnily enough, started watching this series at the insistent recco of our dear mod Suhaas Shenoy

Thanks will keep it in my To-Watch list.

I already started ‘Succession’ based on multiple recommendations here. First 4 episodes done but somehow I am kinda dozing off in the end of every episode till now. Probably because I watch it around midnight after completing office

But it was a similar case with yellowstone in the first few episodes post which I started enjoying, so hoping things will get better as i progress

Wentworth in Netflix is a good watch.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2433738/

It is a prison drama. The series is set in the modern day and initially focuses on Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) early days in prison and her subsequent rise to the top of the prison's hierarchy.

Completed "Kim's Convenience" and I will definitely recommend this show - 5/5.
Started with "Ted Lasso" and only watched first episode and liked it. Also watching latest season of "The Good Fight" which is a very much recommended and the way they include the latest happens in US in their story line is superb I feel.

Definitely very good performance by the actors, I was expecting the end to be somehow connected but was disappointed there, the second part "River" was very powerful, not a single dialog by the artists.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Just finished watching third installment of American Crime Story on Hotstar. For those who are not familiar with the series, each season is a part-fictional but largely authentic retelling of an infamous American crime. Season one was OJ Simpson trial, second was Gianni Versace murder and the latest season deals with sordid Clinton-Lewinsky scandal from late 90s.

While I did not expect it to better the sublime season 1, the new season is well researched, enacted and has good music too. Acting is top notch with Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp being the stand out for me.

Side note: I was in school when this scandal broke and apart from some lurid tales printed on local Malayalam dailies I was not aware of the extent of sexual allegations against Clinton. It's quite mind boggling that Clinton not only managed to finish his term but still continues to be loved and respected in USA.

Arcane on Netflix.

The animation and story is very well done. Almost too good for Netflix.

What a fantastic premiere of Dexter- New blood.
Loved the snowy small town setting more than I thought I will.
Was apprehensive due to that disaster 8th season ending and many critics blasting this new season. But, I liked it a lot.

Only Murders in the Building - 9/10

What a refreshing mini-series! If you want to see a bunch of wannabe detectives solve a murder mystery then this one should not be missed!
Some great background music as well.

The Billion Dollar Code on Netflix, German with English subtitles, 8/10

A simple story of a small company's IP infringement battle with a behemoth, it's well-told with some good performances all around. Predictable ending but it grips you right through. The best thing about this limited series is that they haven't stretched it too long. Hear a second season is in the making now.

The Shrink Next Door on Apple TV.

The first episode is 35mins.
It's a Dark Comedy. Don't really know what that is but it's a good watch for sure.

It was the same for me! I watched it last year or something, then stopped after the initial episodes. Started again this year because of the recommendations on this thread + the fact that I was looking for business shows. Trust me, you'll be hooked after some more episodes. It's the only thing I'm watching at the gym / in my free time now. As much as I loved "The Good Wife", I put that on hold for Succession.

The story, dialogues & characters (especially the characters) are too good.

I really love the background score too. Top notch.

My only grouse is it can sometimes get a bit too facetious but I think that's the satirical / comedy angle of it as semi comedy semi drama show.
