Straight from the Heart, Khaadu. Very touching. May he rest in Peace.

Good to see you back, though the reason for your coming back is quite sad.

Because they can't talk. Because they can see their time coming up. Because they don't have those pseudo feelings. They come to be with us and they live like that.

khaadu, I can see your face.

Felt very bad to hear about Duke, My Spitz died 2 years ago in my arms , he was 17 and had contracted jaundice, it was impossible to revive him but we tried for one month none the less we used to feed him from our hands in his last few days as he could not even do that, in the end we had to put him to sleep, he lies buried in our compound and will stay in our hearts forever.
Very sweet fellow and used to never snap at anyone.

Sorry about the loss Khaadu. Time heals, but well, it takes time to do so. :( He has gone to a nice place I am sure. Have lost three dogs and I don't have the courage to keep another ....

Me too.. My Doberman was poisoned.. we found meat at the sopt where she died.. and for that entire week i do not re-collect buying meat for her.

Also i lost my Great dane to a Garden lizard.. We had a lawn and he swallowed it live.. it got stuck in its throat.. and he died of internal bleeding before i could rush him to a vet..He died in my car.. on my lap..
I came home and had the garden removed.. Now there is nothing but concrete all around.. after all this i have never bought another pet.

Very sorry to hear about your loss, Khaadu. May Duke rest in peace.

N_C: It must be terrible to lose a pup like that. I can understand your misery. I've seen a 2 month old cocker spaniel suffer in the last days of its life, and yet try to look cheerful inspite of all its misery. It really wells up your eyes when despite being in pain and misery, they lovingly look up at you and feebly wag their tails.

That is terrible and shocking! How could someone do this? Did you find out who it was?

Happened to my Uncle's dog as well. We had suspicions on the neighbours as their dog had got into a fight with ours (and lost). Could never prove it though.

Reading these posts I have got tears in my eyes, I have a golden retriever & when he falls a little sick I start worrying like anything.

Animals they say cannot say anything - but their way of expressing love & compassion to us is unbeleivable. I hope Duke is Happy & Playing ball wherever he is.

RIP Duke ....

Khaadu, felt really sad reading this thread. I am sure you will treasure the memories forever, and that void can never be taken up by anyone else.

Gautham, your dog too? Sad.

Khaadu, sorry to hear about Duke. Dont know if that pic of Duke that Sam posted, was posted earlier, but I feel I have seen it before.

You, Duke, Blackie, Shadow, and the rest - you are lucky to have each other. Like you said, he's out there, watching the fields, playing with other kittens, and dogs .. He will always be there.

RIP, Duke.
