Safari Meets Fiesta!!

This is a Hilarious incident that happened at my office Yesterday.
Ofcourse it involved My safari and a Fiesta
I had to pick up my 3 year old daughter from her school at 3 and i was already late after completing my work.
The time was around 2:15 when i sat in my car and thought..Damn i am late.. My wife is gonna kill me.
I failed to Notice a Ford Fiesta standing next to my car in the Parking lot.
Started the Dicor and took an immediate turn to exit the parking when i hear a light scraping sound..
Immediately stopped the car and saw to the left and i had indeed touched the Fiesta..and it was Lunch time.. everyone in Oracle
was on their way to the cafeteria.. and suddenly i realised that my popularity level increased 10 fold right there in the parking lot.
The security guards came running with a panicked look on his face.. i calmly told the guard to contact the owner and ask him to meet me
immediately as i was getting late.. Now my car was parked in a weird way still touching the fiesta and blocking the
oncoming cars and cabs.. I had to move it out of the way and back into the slot where i had parked.
Sat in the car again and called my wife telling her of the incident and begging her not to kill me as i will be delayed further,
and she will have to go to school instead.
Here is the part where things get better.. While on the phone and getting a good lecture from wife i put the Dicor in reverse
and moved the car back.. It scraped the Fiesta more and this time increased the scratch to a big gash on the bumper..
people thought i had gone crazy.. I smiled to myself and thought.. Hmmm the day just got better..
Got out of the car and saw that my car has a small light scratch on the footstep.. Nice.. saw the fiesta and to my horror
the bumper was almost cracked. The security could not locate the owner of the vehicle so i left my mobile number with the guard
and told him to ask the owner to call me.
In 15 minutes i get a call from some guy called Rajesh..The conversation was something like this
Rajesh: Hello.. is this Sumit Varma
Me: Yes.. who is this
Rajesh: You damaged my vehicle.. what u have to say about it
Me: Yeah.. I know.. Get the vehicle repaired and let me know.. I will pay for the damages.I am sorry about it.
Rajesh: Ok, I will call you in one hour.
After an hour i get a call and he tells me that i have to pay him 1500/-. I promplty agreed knowing that i can close it off at 1500
instead of paying for an entire bumper.. maybe he did not explain it very well.Closed the deal then and there and told him to call me once he is in office.
Today morning when i came in i saw an email from Rajesh..here is the copy.

Your manager?
Sure this is a hilarious incident?

Actually, Was surprised reading how calmly you managed the situation. Most would have panicked seeing the cracked fiesta bumper.

Nah.. Not my manager.. I dont think there is any need to edit any names here. This is from my personal Inbox.. All this is related to me and my vehicle..

Godfather,

Dont be suprised if he links your future job security to stopping the Safari to office.

And of all people, you had to bang a Delivery Manager's assets ?? I'm guessing this is the DM for North America at that

You should consider getting an asistant for your Safari - like there are in lorries. His job will be to get out of the Safari and cause a roadblock while using donkey grunts to communicate with you-the driver when the Safari is backing out. Waving hands meaninglessly at traffic while the Safari is moving will be his other job. He's also referred to as Lorry Cleaner.

Glad that you utilized the intentional (sympathetic) opening I gave in my post.

But dont have high hopes - I dont work cheap and I usually take over the businesses I work for...

hehehe... interesting incident. I'm sure he wont mess with your appraisal too much. If he does, tell him that you wont be able to pay him the next time such a thing happens. [] (hint hint...)

Goddie... you need glasses. You're getting old.

Your truck needs big rig rear view mirrors and a periscope.

Hilarious incident Godfather, As long as he is not your manager it is fine...but why the hell he wants to stop till 11:30PM in the night just for 1500? you can give him the money next day...
or transfer the money in his account....
I didnt know that Oracle has stopped paying well to their DMs...

That would have been a typo.. Managers generally come in at 11:30 in the morning for a 9:00 reporting time.and if we come half hour late for a 5:00 AM shift we have to send an explanation mail. I guess this incident serves him right.
