What songs sound best with Prologic II?

For those who aren't aware of what ProLogic II is - check out the linkDolby Pro Logic II

And for those who know what i'm talkign about, it would be great to have a list of songs that work best when ProLogic II (Music) mode is activated.

Some of the songs that have impressed me are :
Thriller - MJ (the foot steps at the begining of the song do a complete 360 deg around you)
Tabloid Junkie - MJ (the voices of various news readers can be heard from specific speakers)
Disco Club - Black Eyed Peas (backing vocals come from the surround speakers)
Thank you - Dido (the 3 beats of the opening bongo piece can be heard from "front right - front right - rear right")
Tears in heaven - Eric Clapton "mtv unplugged"
Mitwa - Lagaan (the whole song sounds like 5.1 surround....brilliant)
Die another day - Madona (synth, strings and drums are well placed)
Crash n burn - savage garden
Spinning around - kylie minogue
Men in black - will smith
Smoke on the water - deep purple (original)
In the end - linkin park
1 step closer - linkin park "reanimation"
crawling - linkin park "reanimation"
me, myself and i - vitamin c
Billie jean - MJ
Keep the faith - MJ
Stranger in moscow - MJ
Brand new day - sting
Englishman in new york - sting
broken - seether
Thnder struck - ac/dc
back in black - ac/dc
Stiff upper lip - ac/dc
I don't wanna miss a thing - aerosmith
Sing along - blue man group - with dave mathews
Closing time - everclear
Flood - jars of clay
Walk tall - john cougar
Low rider - gone in 60 secs
Sweet child of mine - sheryl crow (GnR cover)
Gin soaked boy - divine comedy

the songs with some time delays in the music of the left and right channels will play very nice on a prologic set as this formats create the image of the surround with this technology.

You don't need special CDs. I listen to MP3s in 5.1 surround. But some very old recordings can only be heard from the front center speaker. In such cases, it's better to choose stereo or 5 chnl stereo mode.

To start with, i don't have a 7.1 setup or Prologic IIx on my amp.....so it made more sense for me to choose DPL II over DPL IIx. And i guess most people who have DPL IIx on their amps would surely have the DPL II mode as well.

But, if you have any songs that work on DPL IIx, feel free to mention them. Just make sure you specify that they're meant to be heard on Prologic IIx mode.

because of the mono recording . there is no variation in the left and the right channel so the processor cannot decode it.

Err!! Why would one want to mess up perfectly good stereo soundstaging with some lossy processing like this. Its simply beyond me why anyone would wanna do this.

Sir it totally depend on ones choice, like some like white colour car and come like yellow colour car...

the dolby add some echo effects from its rear channels which gives the surround effect which is like by many.

In stereo mode, you're facing the music. In Prologic mode, you're "IN" the music.

Why sit in the audience, when you can sit with the performers "on stage".

^^When the recording itself is meant to be heard with you facing the stage, where does the question of you sitting on stage come in? Also in a concert are you sitting on the stage or in front of it . Probably you've never heard a pair of speakers with proper soundstaging.

OT - DVD audio and SACD have music mastered in 5.1 / 7.1 channels.

If you have a player for the same and can source these discs, you can enjoy music mastered in multi channel as against PL2 which extrapolates 2 channels to 5.1 .

downside is choice of software is limited and difficult to source and universal disc players are expensive.

Like LBM said, it finally comes down to personal choice. I like to be surrounded by music, so i use Prologic. If you like stereo, thats fine with us.

Maybe thats why DPL is catching up. Almost all high end players have it and it works with most audio formats.
