well, reportedly the punishment was a bit harsh even by chinese standards.

but at least strip the corrupts off all the money they have gathered and imprison them.

Hmm... I guess their legal system dosen't recognise crimes like copying cars, making fake CDs etc. Double standards methinks.

yikes pharmaceutical flaws

i dont no why but most of the made in china so called products do last longer as the original ones at times you got to agree with that be it anything!

This was a mark on the "Made In China" name. The accused was evidently allowing the manufacture of substandard medicines, which could have been harmful. I really don't think fake CDs kill people.

It is a good move by the Chinese - this will send a clear message to people that corruption will be tackled seriously. People will be scared whether their actions will tarnish the "Made in China" brand and whether they'll suffer the same fate. Wish this had been done here a long time ago.

I read sometime back that India has also enacted strict laws about against people making fake drugs. If I remember correctly, the max punishment is the death sentence.
