@MOralfibre,austere_Sly and Xinome: My apologies but your votes wont be counted officially. One needs to be mature enough to vote on the petition. I love your enthusiasm though and hope Mitsubishi considers your votes as future potential buyers. Please keep supporting us.

PS: If you are above 18 please post here again to make your vote count. So that is 38-3 =35 for now Some have posted but not written the words I am in. (its compulsary to avoid miscalculation.)

Hello devarshi84 uncle, I am same age as yours. What I meant by I cannot afford is that I have just got Swift Diesel, so won't be able to buy new lancer in next year or so.

So,

I AM IN.

Will the words "I am In" bring the Mitsu X to india?

I dont think so !!

The Cedia costs only 10L - its the closest to the EVO we will get in a long long time. ROC did about 205 during our bangy chennai meet and he was not even pushing it.

All the "I am Ins" just get yourself a Cedia. IMPO

How much of a difference?

1. For starters, How does a MIVEC engine Sound?

2. Front seat-mounted side-impact airbags are standard, as are side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag which will be a first for India. Anti-lock brakes are standard

3. Mitsubishi's FAST Key entry system (the keyfob can remain in your pocket or purse while unlocking the door and starting the vehicle).

4. 5-speed manual, CVT and Sportronic(with paddleshifters) option. We can probably get two if lancer enters direct competition with civic.

5. 16 to 18 inch wheels (expect 16inchers to make it to India) with different stabilizer bars and spring/shock damping rates, along with front brakes from the larger, heavier Outlander SUV. The new lancer also has a more stiff chassis.

6. The 2008 Lancer is a little shorter than the model it replaces, but has a longer wheelbase, wider track and greater overall width. The result, in combination with its stiffer chassis and European-tuned suspension, is a better handling vehicle with more interior room than the outgoing model.

7. HM-Mitsubishi can provide on more expensive models additional features such as an optional Sun and Sound package that combines a sunroof and 650-watt Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system (a la Montero) with a bluetooth cellphone interface and steering mounted controls.

A fully loaded lancer can be configured for 21K USD which is around 8.5 INR. With some strip-offs a price tag of 12K seems pretty reasonable.

for more information look at these links.

Highly unlikely that all these features will make it to Indian shores (that is, hypothetically if the new gen Lancer does come to India!).
Even then, I would want to buy the car.

The Cedia somehow never appealed to me. I am not too keen on opting for a rebadged old generation hand-me-down car, that the Indian concern is touting as "new and improved". Granted, the Cedia is a very good car, but it just does not have the appeal to lure me (and many others I know of) into going for it. If I ever upgrade from my old Lancer to another Mitsubishi, it would have to be to a recent model.
So, lets see if the powers-to-be humour us....

am among those confused ppl who cant make up my mind between the SX4 and the Cedia. No doubt both have advantages and disadvantages. And just like all, I have always been a keen Mitsu fan.

So yeah, am in too.
