Wanted: Imported SUV below 25 Lakhs.

In the market for an SUV preferbably new and imported.

Have weighed my other options such as the New Endy, CR-V, X-Trail,etc but havent been convienced by any of them.

Would consider a used one only if its completly clean(accidents and paper work) with low mileage.

Please PM me with any leads that you might have.

Thanks.

Dont know about mumbai, but in bangalore, there is a bunk that has a lot of these imported vehicles parked - landcruisers, bigger pajeros, lexus, nissan patrols are the predominant ones..

I think you may be able to get a 4 year old X5 for close to 25 .
Try visiting navnit motors. They may have one belonging to a customer for sale.
It would be a safe option as you would also get car history and maintaincence details.

Good Morning!
Read the topic name again

to me the new endy makes the most sense. A true blue SUV.. others are called SUVs but in true fashion, cant hardly do any off-roading

Sahil,

I seriously recommend that you consider the new Mitsu Montero. It has simply everything you could want from an SUV...well, everything except a price below 25 lakhs. But it may work out cheaper if you:

1. Get a very good finance deal.

2. Factor in depreciation (if in company name).

3. consider Lower maintainence.

4. And the resale value.

Take a test-drive. You wont be disappointed.

Sahil, by now you surely have realised that you're in no man's land.
The only suggestion i can come up with is a sparingly used Montero

IMO the whole offroading bit is way overhyped atleast in our country. Most people in our country buy an SUV for pure presence and to make a statement of sorts.
A true offroading guy usually looks in the direction of the 4 x 4 mahindra and the maruti gypsy.

Very true.
If one experiences the extremes that the off-roaders do, he/she wouldn't take a 10 lakh+ rupee SUV near them.

The Montero is definatly a great SUV but it's priced too high 35 lakhs is ex showroom and to add to it another hety road tax since its CBU would make it 40lakhs out the door. . . My ideal choice is the Outlander but i cant wait much longer for it to launch.

@ Manson- I agree with the whole off-roading hype. I am not looking for any off roading etc. The main purpose of an SUV in my house is for the highway and airport trips. Two biggest factors i need from an SUV is space and suspension.

And the second one thereby throws the new Endy out of contention.

One very important fact. There is no NEW and IMPORTED SUV for 25 lakhs.
Will give you an idea about a couple of deals I have done in the last 3 months for SUVs.

2001 Toyota Cygnus (petrol) 24lakhs
2000 Toyota Landcruiser (diesel) 31.5 Lakhs
1996 Toyota Prado (diesel) 13 Lakhs
2001 BMW X5 (Petrol) 29 Lakhs
On sale now:
2004 Toyota Prado (diesel) 44 Lakhs (Import is on TR and has been imported in MAY)
1996 Pajero 7 Lakhs
1998 Toyota Prado 15 Lakhs

All the above cars are in average to good conditon, none are sparingly used, all with mileages ranging from 45K to 70K.(Except for the 2004 Prado)
The only one that comes to mind is the Toyota Prado (Petrol) launched in India. Had been offered a low mileage 2006 model for about 30 Lakhs.
Only thing is resale on this would be a pain and the extra expense of buying a petrol pump(lol) along with it.

Sunil, that was a real eye opener on the price range. How much does a used Montero go for, any previous deals you have clicked on any?
