Whats the value of a VIP number? As high as a new Accord

A fancy VIP number costs how much? 10,000? 50,000? 5,00,000?

Son of a Ludhiana based city garment manufacturers spent (wasted is the word actually) 15,50,000 for a fancy Hutch number : 09780000000

Source: times of india (todays..) . The paper also carries his number (posted above...)

15.5Lacs... some people are really born with a gold (or platinum) spoon

He can't use it as a private number since its already public. Probable use is as an helpline number for a corporate.

Lol. I read this. All I can say is DOH! If someone wants to spend all that money on a number, more power to him I say.

But, now that the number is published for millions to see, and we all know he has so much extra money floating around, I can just see the underworld types rubbing their hands in glee!

Read about the same in the morning's paper. Loads of money they have it seems.

The article also mentions Ludhiana has the highest number of Mercs.

With the number of crank calls he'll probably now get on that number, it won't be long before he'll have to disconnect it. 15.5 L thoroughly washed down the drain.

The Malhotra family (name is already in the papers) even celebrated the purchase of the number with sweets et al !

Just goes to show, people's priorities can vary sooooo much.

Ridiculous isn't it!

His Dad has proudly said that he's always been like this - bidding for fancy numbers; he mentioned though that this time it was a little too high. Our man has said that he borrowed money from family, friends & relatives to round up the required amount - he would be paying them back.

I was just wondering - what do you think the family's monthly income would be like, a few crores perhaps? I mean what a bloody waste of money I say
