50th century!! Amazing player! Add to it that for 2 years he did not have a single century and then just one in 2022.

What a time to get it and in front of his idol, perfect setting.

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

I thought SKY would walk in after Kohli ! 40 - 50 overs is his home territory

Fail to understand with 5 overs remaining, why would you not send Sky ahead of Rahul. You need brutal hitting at this juncture with an eye to reach 400 or more. Rahul cannot match Sky in strike rate and raw hitting power. Run a ball scoring is not needed at this time.

Because KL hit the fastest century in an ODI WC match by an Indian in the last match on Sunday itself. And he scored at the SR of 195 again today.
Meanwhile, SKY hasn't performed anywhere at that level this entire year in ODIs leave alone this WC.

Let's trust this team management which has been demolishing all the teams this WC

That said, take a bow Emperor Kohli
What a batting performance by Indian team today

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

Now that India team has put up a good score, the bowlers must jump into the action and get some early break throughs. King Kohli was superb but I felt Shreyas Iyer batted a tad better. He was effortlessly hitting the sixes without any risky shot. When Virat got out I thought Shubham would come out and attempt to complete his century too but nevertheless everyone contributed well.

It really pains me to see the captain Rohit again getting out early in the innings. He set up the tempo so much that I was wishing he could get a ton on his home ground. But a Captains knock no less.

Shreyas actually provided the impetus. There was a time when India scored just 27 runs in 5 overs during the 37 to 41th with 9 wickets in hand. I hope New Zealand falters in the chase since this pitch is a belter. At one point, I thought India will score more than 430.

And regarding Rohit, he is practically sacrificing his wicket for the team. For the last two matches and today, he was literally toying with the bowlers of the opposite teams. He could have gone for glory in each of the match but chose otherwise in the interest of the team which tells us how much he is into leading the team to glory.

Edit: Shami is winning this for us ..what a show of perfect swing bowling !!

At that point the match was pretty much in our hands. On top of that bowling department is on fire so management would have felt pretty confident with whatever score was up at that point.350 was enough to wrap this match up.

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

NZ is going great guns. This isn’t going to be one of those one-sided matches we got used to seeing in league stage.

Some horrible fielding and loads of wides/byes aren’t helping either(25 extras in as many overs is horrendous). Probably first time in this WC our bowlers are getting proper thrashing. Hope they can absorb the pressure and come out on top eventually.

Still scoring at 9+ RPO batting second isn’t easy. Probably that’s why this is a semi-final

With such horrible fielding, looks very tough. What a dolly dropped by Shami

Our body language sure doesn’t look good :(

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

This is getting a tad dicey. Hope the dropped doesn't come to haunt Shami who has been outstanding throughout bar that one catch.

Phew!! This game is not for the weak hearted.

Shami you beauty!!!!! Two quick wickets has put a zip in their step...

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

Williamson and Mitchell are playing the Dhoni game here. Plod through the middle overs and make it a T20 game in the last 10 overs. And the fact that they have retained wickets is a big plus. Let's see if Shami and Siraj are able to break this partnership.

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

Hold your horses guys, we’re talking about chasing 397 in an ICC tournament’s knockout game. It won’t be that easy for New Zealand!

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

132 from 60 balls with only 4 wickets down is still not impossible. We need to get Mitchell's wicket now.

Re: The 2023 Cricket World Cup

Our so called great bowling line up are relying on negative bowling. But why?

It is so predictable and Kiwis are making the most out of it. Poor poor bowling technique and plan.

Edit: A boon to have a wrist spinner. Fantastic spell by Kuldeep especially his last 2 overs. Good captaincy to keep these overs for the last phase.

Edit 2: Congratulations for reaching the Finals. Must appreciate NZ's fighting spirit. They should be allowed to play the winner of the Semi Final 2 (calling Jay Shah)
