Car makers turn to freebies to get new models on track

I checked but still not sure if this has been posted before, mods please do the needful if this thread is redundant.

New cars drive up impressive sales, right? Not necessarily. Many new cars that have hit the market in the past one year seem to have gone off-track. Most of these models have failed to excite customers, forcing manufacturers to dole out huge freebies and discounts to grab their attention.
