I think this is a hoax. Someone named Yograj singh is making money from his name closely matching with Yuvraj and he coming from the same city.

The last bid was Rs. 4,46,000.00. Since the reserve price was not met, the sale didn't happen.

True, however, the only advantage is that if you were planning to give 4-5lakhs to this charity anyway, you could do it this way and get a free OHC.

Great! It is time they stop encouraging selfish auctions like this.

If an NGO has to get the profit, it has to auction the car after buying it from the cricketer at its market value. That would make a lot of sense.

It would be lame for a cricketer to earn an insane amount just because his car is being auctioned.

Huh?

My understanding is the Yuvraj gave them the car and told them they could keep the money they made from selling it.

Just saw this part of the article:

Quote:
Even though the highest bid was more than double the current market price for a six-year old used car of the same make, it was below the 'reserve price' set by the NGO that had been authorised to sell the car and collect the proceeds.
Quote:
The auction was part of eBay India's charity fund raising programme, a special section dedicated to NGOs and Socially Responsible Corporates. In India, eBay has raised over Rs 1.64 crore for NGOs through celebrity and high profile listings as well as direct donations.

Earlier last year, it organized "A day on the sets with Priyanka Chopra" auction, which received bids from around the world and collected over Rs two lakhs for an NGO Nanhi Kali that works for the education of the girl child.

Besides, the website has recently sold numerous cricket bats autographed by another star cricketer Irfan Pathan for thousands of rupees each.
Hope all that is carried out in a transparent fashion.

Sorry.

Unable to understand why so much of importance is given to this silly thing. Even Media is behind this auction like a dog. If the amount is going to charity, let Yuvraj himself/his secretary (if he has) give a statement in media that he is selling this car to help out some NGO. Why this is not coming out?
