Ultra High end Audio Systems

Has any one of you heard of Kharma International - Ultra High-End Audio ? Heard about it from a friend whose husband deals with these. They are also supposed to be ultra expensive as well. I was looking through some of their product brochures and found that some of teh speakers alone weighs more than 400 kgs... . It requires a crane to position them.

Apparently, they have quite a few customers and most of them are politicians and they have spent crores in some of their houses on just speakers.

Yes, all true. There are many such objects of desire in the homes of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and all over the country for that matter. But you will rarely see these people showing them off.

Your friend's husband must be Aditya Gupta or someone associated with his company (The SoundSmiths). I heard they recently sold a system using Kharma speakers costing an unmentionable amount. No idea which exact models though.

it will work but onboard audio doesnt usually sound the best. even investing in a basic card like a creative soundblaster live 24 bit which is around 1k should give better sq.

something like emu 0404 will be a lot better

Isn't that an external sound card? How does it compare with the likes of Audigy NX?

Guys check this link:
Altec Lansing Products: MX5021
This is the speaker i am having rite now.It is a wonderful piece for a multimedia speaker.
SPL:103 db and 90 watts RMS.
Can i compare the AE 2 with this Altec lancing or AE2 has better SQ.
SQ of Altec lancing MX 5021 for a multimedia speaker is unbelievable and the low as well.My sound card is Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs. The very good thing is it has THX Certification.Someone please comment about both this speakers.
This is not a high end speaker and it costs around Rs 7000/-.

E-MU Systems - 0404 PCI - PCI Digital Audio System

they did release a usb version though. i wouldnt recommend usb for sound card , in that case get a usb dac which might be better for music

IMO this is one of the better multimedia speakers out there (compared to some logitechs etc) excellent for games and movies and great for music as well but the AE2 will probably be in a different level (sound and price) and shouldnt really be compared

Thanks! Yeah..i was referring to the USB one. ANother query..i don't really need that kinda card do i? i think i don't
ALso how can i set up a wireless system using AE2. I do not have enough power sockets in my room. I want to power the speakers from a seprate power plug...in that case if i place the speakers behind me..at the back of the room how can i set up the wireless system. Also i plan to buy a ipod soon..shud i go for the airport express as well?

EDIT: A friend is flying home from Mumbai for Diwali. Would probably arrange for him to get the AE2 for me.
