Theres a Very good shop at Lohar Chawl. Forget the name, but its owned by a Bohri, and they are good people. His shop on the ground floor sells power tools, but they have a shop on the first floor which is something one must see!! I couldnt believe the tools and options available, all brands.
They say they are importers and wholesalers. They also have a website. will hunt and put up later.

There is one for around Rs.3600/- and another for Rs.2800/- . Frankly, it makes sense to buy what you really need rather than buy a fancy "car tool kit".

Also, note that there are two Goodwill shops, they are opposite each other and they are owned by the same chap. The one on the first floor is the one that you need to go to as you can walk through the display of tools and choose what you like.

Agree. Leaving out the "need to have" one's, its always wise to choose depending upon the purpose.

Re: Bangalore : Fantastic store for tools

Picked up the Bosch GSB 13 RE Kit for Rs. 4100 from Sri Varu Power Tools. The kit is a April 2012 manufactured unit. You can forget about Made in Germany home use drill kits like these. The one I picked is a Made in India unit. Very well made though. Store located at 22 SJP Road, Bangalore - 560002. Ph : 22224850, 22222545 This store sells only Bosch and Skill products.

Re: Bangalore : Fantastic store for tools

Another fantastic shop in Bangalore is called Tools & Trades (Navabharath Hardware) at the end of Commercial street. The person there Mr. Krishnamurthy is gem of a man with years of experience. IF you want something specific made he will get it made for you.

He has a lot of good quality tools! By the way he too is an audiophile and makes a lot of speaker stands and audio racks, power conditioners, interconnects and speaker & power cables too.
