Glowing BMW Manifold!!

Guyz..found this pic of the BMW manifold on supercars.net! Loved it a lot..isnt it astonishing!!!

ps:I am posting a reduced image so that it loads faster. If anyone wants I would post a 1024 x 768 size image which is its original size.

Hi Dude,
The pic you have attached is of a Beemer engine under dyno testing, so its prone to glow more. The engine is probably high revving. This happens when the engine is running at a constant high revv...
Our indian engines dont glow as they are low revving, and are constantly variating rpm's.

The exhaust can reach very high temperatures, conditions like lean burning too can cause excessive heat, as well as wrong ignition timing... im not saying that the fuel is lean or ignition is incorrect for the engine in that pic... just giving reasons

For example the supra when we were testing it, when we attain high boost i.e 1.5bar and above the egt gauge shoots up to about 800F... and when we shift immediately drops to 550F....
