Another Racing Death on Noida Expressway...

It has happened yet again, this time taking lives of two very young people. The article has some very shocking statements:

"none of those with whom they were racing stopped to help"
-that is just pure shocking.

"Amit Chopra, 21, and Sanjiv Raj, 23, MBA students"
-What a waste of young talented lives!

"Chopra, featured in magazines and television for his motorcycle stunts"
-Apparently not a rookie either!

Source:

Its a sad day! :-(

Really a sad day indeed - It is said, 'Hindsight is always 20:20' - But couldnt help telling, how I wish they had an eye on safety as much as they had on fun and racing :-(

Peace for their souls.

Which bike is that?

Is it just me, or is it a superbike? (Orange alloys look like a Repsol Honda to me)

It happened on the expressway which is 23.5kms in length and once u enter u have no chance of turning back until u cover the whole stretch. Mostly barren land on both sides and its a very wide road almost 6 lanes on each side i think.

Oh that's very bad !!!

But Racing on Expressway !!! Isn't that Bad ? That too by two young guys on a bike ( 1000 CC ).

I have seen some bad driving last time when I was in Delhi. I was on the greated Noida Expressway and saw some people driving bikes at maddening speeds and I thought to myself that these kids are going to get themselves injured someday and look what happened.

Also I was in travelling from gurgaon to delhi on the newly constructed flyovers. I was opposite the Convergys Building ( In my Accent ) and this kid on a Hayabusa ( wearing a Backpack ) zoomed past me with only a pin's distance between us - he must be doing 180 + ( I was about 90 ) - I mean within 4 - 5 seconds he was away and I could not spot him again. It's crazy really !!!

May someone give these people some Brains of how to drive carefully and Race in proper places rather than Public Roads.

RIp you Guys - My sympathies with the parents.

Guys,

A word of caution: Media ALWAYS portrays such things negatively. Without knowing the person or the incident, let us NOT bash racing.

TBHP is FULL of triplogs of guys doing 140-150 in cars on public roads only, and of "spirited driving' (remember jammu in 8 hours? or of hvk's uber high speed runs). Till we know truly what happened, let us not give well meaning but uninformed comments.

It is very easy to sit behind a screen and lament. But till the picture clears up, let's say a quiet prayer instead.

@Mods: I strongly request you to change title to "SBK rider dies in taj expressway crash". To the uninformed, any vehicle doing 100+ on roads is racing. tbhp should be better than that.
