Enthusiasts so obviously love black! Heck, 3 of my 4 cars are black and about 45% of this poll's respondents have chosen black as their colour of choice.

The masses think differently. Silver & white are the top two best selling colours in India.

Most of the Indians think Black is a non - auspicious colour. Thats the reason most of them avoid Black.

For an instance I wanted to buy a black Santro. But, due to objection from my family was forced to go for a Husky Blue.

It is fairly well known that darker colours tend to get lost in the roas bckground, esp. at dusk.

Also, darker colours need more frequent dust removal. We all admire a Shining Black Car, but a dirty black one?

I would say go by the market - Globally at one time it was white, now it is sliver.

Both my cars are black. And the next one will be no different.

In fact, my neighbour and I share this attribute. Imagine four black cars parked side by side (it is a daily sight at my place).

Tell me about it. I had some amount of back & forth with my folks on the first black car (Jeep). Well, the Jeep served us just as well and is still part of the family (in her 13th year). No problems with black colour now

Did I forget Interlagos Blue, quite possibly the best color ever created?
You stole the words out of my mouth or keyboard in this case

Nothing comes close to that color ! If only BMW offered that here

Finally I actually see a color close to that come to India, the Jazz and facelifted City have a similar blue.

But there seems to be a shift when you move up to the luxury segment. When I booked my Superb there was a long waiting on the car, however white and silver had least waiting !

Black and other shades were more delayed. Longest was for the Maroon, the one they advertised the car with during launch. This is always the case in India, the color advertised seems to become a very popular choice.
Likewise when Santro was launched, red was popular because SRK was zipping around in a red one in their commercials.
