They do have CCTV footage as per the report.
With large sums of money being handled and toll-booths normally being in uncrowded areas, police protection should be provided.
Have never seen police protection at toll booths. There are police vans on the toll roads to help motorists, but none specifically to guard toll booths, as far as I know

I wonder if the cops will be able to trace the killers , they hardly have any leads and more than a day has passed by.

apparently this guys turned around and came back to the toll booth, asked the attendant about the "health" of the guy he shot.
Today's paper:

still a supposition, with not much to back it up.

Just an offshoot of the indcident, though.
The toll booth today, although crwoded, but was quite orderly for a monday morning, especially.
Occasional jackasses are, of course, discounted.

Watched the clip on news channels. One of them mentioned the reg number of the vehicle could not be captured as the cctv was not pointing in the right direction!

NCR is getting quite scary with almost every other person carrying a gun.

News just came in that the culprits have been nabbed, murder weapon and the vehicle recovered, thanks to the footage captured. I hope a precedent is now set with an exemplary punishment...

just shifted jobs to noida a week back.
have just a 4-5(?) km toll road, but it is such a pleasnt change.
yes, yes, i know, gurgaon e'way faces a 100 times more commuters every day, probably.
there are only 7-8 odd lanes, and there is a slight backing up of traffic.
but the key differences are:
1.no one cuts into other lanes.
2.gold(tag) lanes unmanned
3.Toll collectors are at the booth, and there are additional ones about 40 metres from the booths.they carry change, and tokens, so that you pay the toll beforhand, and by the time your turn comes at the booth, you just have to give the token(ie exact change!)

the first may be discounted cos people are in no urgency as such.its not a if you dont cut in, you wont ever cross teh booth.
but it may be attributable to practices such as the latter 2.

the nmanned bit, i especially like.
if some smart aleck does decide to go there, he cant do nuts without a tag, so there.

Fully agree - let's start a facebook campaign, eh? Enough people sign enough frivolous petitions or stuff that will not change a zit on the face of this earth!

Hi Everyone:

Not sure if this is OT.

I live in Gurgaon and have to travel to Delhi for work... I leave home aorund 10 AM and hit the toll plaza at 10:30 or so and there is not much of a line.. Coming back from Delhi to Gurgaon.. its a pain.. I am stuck for easily 30 mins any time I come.. I have tried leaving office (near Central Secretariat) at 7 PM, 8 PM and 9 PM and have always been stuck.. Would MG road be a better option in the evenings? I also get heavily stuck at Sardar patel marg in Delhi.. any other options / routes / timings I can consider.. Thanks much in advance..

I am surprised reading your experience. I have spent the good part of 3 years returning from Delhi between 1830-2000 hours. I mostly spent about 5-10 minutes in the return. Half an hour is a very rare thing to happen - something i have not experienced more than 3-4 times.

latest news in today's rags is that NHAI has called to cancel the concessionnaire's contract!
prepare for battle, users!

According to latest news, DSC Ltd. has written to NHAI asking for toll rate revisions!
More money for something which doesn't work properly!
