You guys should check out Solitaire near Shivananda Circle. Nice ambience, lovely food.

Lunch Buffet consisted of chicken steak, lamb curry, chicken curry, nawabi biryani, noodles, roti, 3 types of dal's,assorted sea food, lovely salads, 4 types of sweets, russian pie and lots more to go with it. Buffet cost was 225 Inclusive of tax. By far one of the best buffet places in Bangalore.

I hear they also serve Lasagne's, pizza's, pasta's for dinner. Sweets like jilebi's are fried on the spot and given. They also have a snack counter as well.

Not bad at all! Must suggest this place to some buddies who'll be in town next week. Nawabi biriyani...oooh la la!!
:D

used to love pigging out at Fanoos or wolfing down greasy meat burgers soaked in mayo at Indianna's.

ah how i miss bangalore

:)

Ah..tell me about it. Those two places were a standard hang-out hub with all my buddies from college. Indiana's had amazing mayo that went so well with those wonderful burgers.

Don't they say..a true Bangalorean has his/her spots that will always remain as favorites..
cheers:

If you are into chettinad, there is a restaurant on 100 feet road which will ensure that you emit fire from inappropriate places for the next few days.
I saw a lot of IT guys bringing their foreign visitors for a "Taste of India" to that place.

However if you are a lover of spicy tamil cuisine(including chettinad chicken), this is the place to be.

I forgot the name, but its near that main signal halfway between the Airport and CMH road junction.

As for standard idly joints, try the Udupi restaurant opposite that shack of a theater on Airport road(near Wind Tunnel road junction). You can follow up the meal with a Tamil/Kannada/Malyalam "Hot movie" at the theater.

Its Annachi.

There is another 'supposedly authentic' Chettinad restaurant that opened on Koramangla 100 ft road near Panasonic showroom. It is called Anjappar. I have not tried it so can't say much about it.

yep,
I have been to anjappar and ponnusamy too they are really nice.
shall try annachi and check it out.

There is one Moulis on Cambridge road. Lunch "full meals" is pretty good. afternoon "dosa/iddly" items are not that good.
Krishna cafe in kormanagala is a good places for idli/dosa. Its one of the places where i have tasted the sambar with out any sweetness, you know, in it.

If any goes here, try that Nanari Sarbat. So soothing for summer...

+1
Delicious and economical. For the people closer to IIMB, there's a branch right opposite it.
