Two cuisines: VFM

Paranthas :
Location: Bellandur Jn->Sarjapur Rd _ Link Road.
Ambience : Clean and Neat place. Not much hanky-panky, but enjoyable
Price Range: 30-70 per plate of paranthas
Specialisation: As the price says, paranthas!. There are other stuffs there, but did not try those out.
Food: The paranthas are just awesome, there are some 10-15 varieties of paranthas and almost all we tried was very good. The food is prepared fresh. So there is a delay of 10-20 mins on order.
Wallet Factor: around 100-150 for two.
Notes: Holiday on Monday. A family business it seems.

Tibet Taste Corner:
Location : Opposite to Forum Mall ( Koramangala ) , near to the orion motors in the by-lane which goes by the side of it.
Ambience: Very average. You can expect a mess type arrangement.
Price Range: 50-90 per dish. (avg)
Specialisation: Again, follows the name of the restaurant to the "T".
Food: We tried momo's ( fried and non-fried ). I liked the unfried veggy momo. Just awesome. Then we had fried rice and hunan chicken. Both dishes on par with what we get in other chinese restaurants ( chung-wa etc ). Expect delays.
Wallet Factor: Dinner for two ( Momo's[2] + Fried-Rice[1] + Hunan[1] = 235 ). This filled us.
Notes: Run by family. Exotic food. Limited amount of seating. But much cheaper and/or better alternative to any food-alternative in Forum Mall. No ambience.

I do not have any affiliation to any of these places. Just that I enjoyed the food.

Sounds like my type of place Thanks for the recommendation, i am going to try this.

I look out for such places to eat. Ambience and all is fine its the food that matters to me, instead of the high prized glamy stuff - been there done that but the cost offsets the pleasure.

I would be shooed away anyways, my weekend attire is a pair of torn jeans and worn out Tshirts with 2 decade old sneakers (atleast they look like that)

Guess you'll need to take a long drive towards north till you reach a place called Punjab ;-) . But seriously, I don't think any such Dhaba's (bobby da dhaba type) exists near Bangalore. All we have is some wannabe's and most of the time food won't be good.
Closest to such kind of Dhaba I've seen was one in between Tumkur and Chitradurga. One night while driving back from Davangere, found this place and they had really good Tandoori Roti's and Daal, a-la proper dhaba type. But it'll be difficult to find that place again as it was a small place and somewhere between nowhere.
BTW, long back (some 8-9 years), just in front of KempFort there was one Punjabi Dhaba type place, run by an elderly punjabi guy. But I doubt if they are there now.

I was reading something about punjab and suddenly rotis and chicken curry crossed my mind and immediately put up the question. Looks like we need to catch some cooks from punjab and start a dhaba. I am already hungry with all these talks about food

Try their speciality -> Chicken County special chicken. 80 bucks and super yummy. 2-3 leg pieces and super tasty gravy. I hate thier fish dishes. Thats it, I pick up only the above from that joint.

And what a location, this time around! Corner of St Marks and Vittal Mallya Rds, the roof of that crazy building that houses Giovani.

Anyone been to the French Bistro at 7 Hotel on Outer ring road? The crepes were amazing. Its a place that many of my french colleagues recommend heartily as well.

Those nitwits have actually got the location (R.T.Nagar branch) on the Google map completely wrong . Its not on Dinnur main road, but bang opposite to 107C bus stop. On the same road as BDA complex, Taralabalu Matha. Place is not bad, food is very yummy. Definitely will be frequenting this place very often from now on. Finally we have a good restaurant around RT.Nagar. Thanks for the link Viddy.

Just now I remembered. There was one small punjabi restaurant at Kaggadasapura Main Road, next to Smart Cars (MASS). I never tried any other food but the Paranthas were good and big sized ones.
Heard good things about the Dhaba mentioned by Amitoj but never had opp to check it out.
And thanks Viddy, will try that place too. Ummm. Has this place been there for a long time? I mean I remember eating at a punjabi place on that road but around 4-5 years back.

Any other locations?

it used to be inside the RT nagar BDA complex. Shifted to this new place down the road a few months back.
