Many years ago, I applied in Adobe, passed seven interviews and flunked the eighth and final one. They sure have some stringent selection processes.

It depends on the company he gets into. For example, Patni pays 2 Lakhs, while Google pays 12 Lakhs for freshers. So choose the company

Same applies to experienced personnel. Thats what we are discussing here - identify the companies which pay more.

tsk1979,
Hope I am not late in answering this old question of yours, nor do I have any direct answer (number) for you.

I assume that you are thinking of one year full time MBA's offered by IIM-A,C and ISB. I heard IIM-B is also about to offer 1 year fulltime MBA. All these are for executives who have more than 7 yrs experience (I guess, could be 5).

I think you should not look at the immediate increment in salary when you complete your MBA, I am not saying that you will not get it, what I am saying is that you should look for better role and responsibilities in good company. Although I need to add that generally if you are completing your studies from above mentioned institutes, you will get at least your current salary plus 20%.

There have been couple of instances I know personally where people having around 7-8 years of software development experience have joined these courses and now are at a good position after 3 yrs. One guy I know used to be team lead/project lead, after completing his course from ISB he is currently designated as Associate Director Product Management, not bad in my opinion as it gives a platform for exploiting future opportunities.

Are you sure these are the average figures for someone with 6 years of experience? They look pretty poor to me.

My friend works in Infy. He has 8 years experience and his CTC is 8.5L.
My other friend is in MSFT Hyderabad. he has 6 years exp and his CTC is 16L. In my current company, 6 years experience will get 9L CTC. So it depends on company.

After 3 years, salary doesn't depend whether you are from Mech or EC or CS. It depends on domain skills. In my company, Manager with Mech background gets same as Manager from CS background, for same years of experience. Though projects handled by CS Manager are of different kind.

Hey GreatDrive, I work in Juniper, BLR and I can vouch that except for a few teams the work atmosphere is fantastic and the pay is on par with the best. I worked in Oracle/ Wipro and know many friends who moved in from various places to Juniper. Everyone concurs with me.

Sorry for going offtopic
