My work timings are totally flexible and can go to work and come back when i want. Also, i usually work from 2 different offices. sometimes work from home too. So that makes it 3 offices for me

So depending on work/meetings i decide which office to go to. Outlining a typical routine below

City:Hyderabad
Work Role: Sales in an IT company
Leave home: 9:30'ish and reach office by 10:30
Back home: Leave around 7pm and back home by 8:30pm and usually work from home 3-4 times a week until late in the night
Distance from Home to office: 20kms or 24km depending on which office i work from. Also, sometimes i travel between these 2 offices each day too. so add another 10kms to the above.
Time taken: 50 minutes while going to office and 1-1.15 hr while coming back
Mode of transport: Accent Viva CRDi

These days I beat traffic by leaving home by 9 or 915 am, and leave office at 530 pm sharp. This way, it takes me 30 to 35 minutes to travel 13.5 kms either way. I log in from home for another hour, mostly around 830 to 9pm to catch up with US folks, when needed.

I also work from home twice a month from 9 to 6 pm---this saves me more than an hour of travel time. All I need is a broadband connection.
I did try taking the MMTS train for a few days, but gave it up as the return journey with a laptop was very tough in the evening, due to over-crowding.

I have the flexibility of decding my own timings, sometimes work from home too.
Usually leave for office about 11:30- 12:00 pm, reach in 25-30 min.
Leave office about 9:15-9:30 reach home in 25-30 min
Plan this way to avoid all the traffic and it works

It all depends on how many morons i get to meet on the way back. More the number, greater the delay.

City : Pune
Industry : Information, with some amount of Technology involved. IT Beast of Burden.

8.25 AM sharp, the company bus squeals at my stop. No, not the tyres, just the old brakes.
Consider it a lucky start if I find a window seat empty, because then I can stare out of the window and observe the many interesting things on the highway, that leads me to the office in Hinjewadi. If not, have to spend an agonizingly boring half an hour+change staring at the back of someone's head. (Should learn to doze off...).
Return time, is usually the 8pm bus, when we are just in time to catch 8pm jam caused by other 8pm buses leaving their company premises.
Havent seen daylight on my way back in ages.

This is when I am not working in shifts, which I do, for a week in a month. The office timings are then 1pm to 10 pm , and commuting time is anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how suicidal my cab driver is feeling at the moment.
