We have many threads and posts on Ferraris, but rarely is the founder remembered. Thanks Nikhilb for starting a thread, wishing the great man on his birthday, way back in 2008. That was his 110th birthday on 20/02/2008.
I used to read a lot about Mr Enzo ( Mr Enzo Anselmo Ferrari) also known as "il Commendatore".
I read about him in automobile books and had just written to him telling him how much I admired him for standing out and rising from a racing car driver and enthusiast to one who built the finest sports car in the world, sometime during mid- 1988.
The news of his death on 14/ 08/ 1988 was shocking and I had felt that maybe he may have penned his reply to my letter, which would be memorable. The news of his death was revealed two days later as per his wish.
This is what I received from Maranello, Italy, sometime later.
