2 lakhs for a good looking second hand Opel Cadet? Better interiors than the opel ever had and a 1.6 DOHC engine? Sounds like a fair deal....

I'd say its not worth selling the nexia for the price...not sure what the scene is, but it's worth keeping the car....we currently own a matiz...had a cielo in our delhi office for a long time, that never gave us issues ...and have never really had any problems with either...

Saw the pics of the nexia....esp on the interior it's a whole segment better...

I'd say you convert it to lpg (if it's possible) and use it like a workhorse....1.5/2 lakhs wouldn't buy you as much as this offers....besides, it's an opel originally....built to last...

hey, i know i'm digressing but anyone seen the similarity between the back of a cielo/nexia and the vectra....the same flat back, lip and numberplate on the bumpers obviously the tail lights are newer looking et al....

the whole deal between GM and daewoo was that they'd help them with technology old and new....dont know the exact details....will google it and see if i fnid something....

the new was the matiz....they helped with the design et al.....

the gave them a series of old plants....and allowed sale in third world countries under the daewoo badge....amongst these was the cielo....when daewoo realised the potential of the matiz...and saw it doing well they told GM to buff off....coz they believed they didn't need them anymore....thats why the fallout....and thats why GM didnt bail them out and chose to take them over for far less once they bled to death....

not entirely informed on the details...but this is roughly what happened!

Early 90's:

GM Shares technology with Daewoo which is being formed, namely the Opel Cadett from their stables is transferred to Korea as the Daewoo Racer.

The Racer goes on to the next generation to become a Daewoo Cielo/Nexia

The Cadett goes on to become the Opel/Vauxhall Astra.

Infact half of the mechanical components on the Astra and Cielo are the same, eg: Accelerator cable, engine block!

only difference was the price and interiors
nexia interiors way better then opels and so is engine only nexia was 3 lak cheaper.
now theres only a lak diff when one goes to sell these cars so overall nexia is better

anyway sold safari for 1.5 ...
drove it and im happy it didnt land in any t-bhpians hands ...
zen for 90k

All those guys who criticised for the high asking price for Nexia...Kindly can we have your opinion on the best rate it can fetch? This may enable some members to give Lamborghini a 'take it or leave it' offer.

The price may range from 1.0 to 1.4maXXX for the NExia (a 5 yr old car) , unless somebody is a royal fan of the Luxury Liner.
